I had decided not to tell Lilah about returning to Red Shadow Pack for a few days because I wanted to surprise her. I sat in the car beside Greg, the driver (I was pretty sure my Dad and Alpha Angus thought I would not return if I was to drive myself... they weren't completely wrong.), gazing out of the window, wondering whether I should surprise her at home or just happen to 'bump' into her somewhere. By the time we were pulling into the Red Shadow Pack's territory, I had decided I would rock up at her soccer game and, coincidentally but not so coincidentally, bump into her. It would be perfect. I would finally know if she was my mate and I would get to see her for the first time in over six months.
My Mum and Dad were standing outside the front of the house when Greg pulled up.
