EPISODE 6 : THE NAME BEHIND THE BETRAYAL

879 Words
The room remained silent after Asher’s words. No more secrets. For twenty years, he had lived with unanswered questions. Every time he looked at the moon, every time he woke from the same nightmare, every time he wondered why his childhood felt like a missing page from a book, there had been no answers. Only silence. But that silence was over. Lucas stood near the window, his expression unreadable. For the first time, Asher noticed something about him. The Alpha King who seemed impossible to break was carrying his own wounds. “You need to understand something,” Lucas finally said. Asher looked at him. “Then explain it.” Lucas turned around. “The truth about your kingdom is not simple.” “Nothing about my life has been simple.” A small silence followed. Lucas accepted the words because he knew Asher was right. “The person responsible for the fall of the Silver Moon Kingdom was not an outsider.” Asher’s eyes narrowed. “Then who?” Lucas hesitated. And that hesitation made Asher’s stomach tighten. “He was someone your family trusted.” The words felt familiar. The same thing Adrian had said. Someone you trusted. Asher’s fingers curled. “Who was he?” Lucas looked directly at him. “Your uncle.” The room seemed to become colder. “My uncle?” Lucas nodded. “Lord Kael Veyron.” The name meant nothing to Asher. But somehow, hearing it created a strange feeling inside him. Like a door in his memory had almost opened. “Why would he do that?” “Power.” Lucas’s answer was immediate. “Your uncle believed the throne belonged to him. He believed your father’s bloodline was a weakness, and that the kingdom needed a stronger ruler.” Asher looked away. “So he destroyed his own family for a crown.” Lucas remained silent. Because sometimes, the truth was worse when spoken aloud. “He planned everything carefully,” Lucas continued. “The attack. The betrayal. The people who would help him.” “And you?” Asher looked back at him. “Where were you?” Lucas’s expression changed. “I was sent away before the attack began.” Asher studied him. “You weren’t there?” “I arrived when it was already too late.” There was something in Lucas’s voice that made Asher believe him. Regret. A regret that had lasted twenty years. “I found you inside the palace.” Asher froze. “What?” “You were unconscious.” Lucas looked down. “You were holding onto that wooden wolf, refusing to let go.” A strange image appeared in Asher’s mind. A man carrying him through smoke. A voice telling him that everything would be okay. A voice that sounded like Lucas. “You saved me.” Lucas did not deny it. “I made a promise to your parents.” “To protect me?” “Yes.” Asher looked at him carefully. “Why?” Lucas was quiet. Then he answered. “Because your father saved my life before that night.” The answer surprised him. The powerful Alpha King. The billionaire everyone feared. Had once been saved by his father. Before Asher could ask more questions, a sudden pain shot through his head. He grabbed the edge of the table. Another memory. Another piece returning. A young boy standing in the palace garden. A man kneeling before him. A silver mark glowing on his hand. Then a voice. “One day, you will return and claim what was taken from you.” The memory disappeared. Asher breathed heavily. Lucas immediately moved closer. “What did you see?” Asher looked at his hand. For a moment, he saw something strange. A faint silver mark. Then it vanished. “I don’t know.” But Lucas did. His expression changed. “The awakening has started.” Asher looked at him. “What does that mean?” Lucas stared at the place where the mark had appeared. “It means your bloodline knows the time has come.” Before Asher could respond, Lucas’s phone suddenly rang. He answered. A few seconds later, his expression turned serious. “What happened?” A voice spoke from the other side. Lucas’s face became colder. “They found the location.” Asher immediately understood. “They’re coming?” Lucas looked at him. “Yes.” The same people who had destroyed his kingdom. The same people who believed he was dead. They knew. The lost prince was alive. Lucas moved toward the door. “We have to leave.” Asher looked at the wooden wolf one last time. Twenty years ago, he lost his home. Tonight, he discovered the truth. And now, he had to decide. Would he continue running from the people who destroyed his past? Or would he finally face them? Asher picked up the wooden wolf. His eyes hardened. “I’m not running anymore.” Lucas looked at him. And for the first time, he saw something different. Not the frightened child he saved twenty years ago. Not the quiet student who hid from the world. He saw the heir of the Silver Moon Kingdom. The lost prince was finally returning.
