Asher did not sleep that night.
Every time he closed his eyes, the same words returned.
You are the last surviving heir of the Silver Moon Kingdom.
They replayed in his mind like a song he could not turn off.
A prince.
A kingdom.
A past he had no memory of.
It sounded impossible.
Yet somehow, a part of him already believed it.
That was the part that scared him the most.
Asher stood beside his bedroom window, staring at the city lights below.
For years, he had convinced himself that the strange emptiness inside him was nothing more than a result of losing his family.
He thought he was just someone who had been abandoned by his past.
But what if he had been wrong?
What if his entire life had been built on a lie?
His hand moved toward the wooden wolf sitting on his desk.
The same wooden wolf Lucas recognized immediately.
The same wooden wolf that had survived when everything else was destroyed.
“How much do you really know?”
Asher whispered.
Of course, the wolf gave him no answer.
A knock suddenly came from the door.
Asher turned sharply.
Nobody visited him.
Especially not this late.
For a moment, he considered ignoring it.
Then he heard a voice.
“Asher.”
His expression changed.
Lucas.
He walked toward the door and opened it.
Lucas stood outside, his face serious.
“You shouldn’t be here,” Asher said.
“I know.”
“Then why are you?”
Lucas looked past him into the room.
“Because we don’t have much time.”
Those words immediately caught Asher’s attention.
“What does that mean?”
Lucas stepped inside.
“It means the people who erased your kingdom are moving again.”
Asher’s eyes narrowed.
“You expect me to believe that?”
“No.”
Lucas looked at him calmly.
“I expect you to remember.”
The answer confused him.
“Remember what?”
“The truth.”
---
An hour later, Asher followed Lucas to an abandoned building outside the city.
He had questions.
Too many questions.
But something about Lucas made him believe there were answers waiting for him.
Inside the building was a hidden room.
The walls were covered with old documents, maps, and photographs.
Asher stopped walking.
On the wall was a picture of a kingdom.
A palace.
A family.
And a young boy with silver-white hair standing beside a woman wearing a royal crown.
His breath caught.
That child was him.
Even though he was older now, he knew.
He knew because he had seen that face in his nightmares for twenty years.
“That was the night everything changed.”
Lucas’s voice was quiet.
Asher turned toward him.
“What happened?”
Lucas looked at the picture.
“The Silver Moon Kingdom was attacked.”
“By who?”
Lucas’s expression darkened.
“People who wanted power.”
Asher stared at the documents.
“My family?”
Lucas hesitated.
That hesitation told Asher everything.
“What happened to them?”
For the first time, Lucas looked away.
“I couldn’t save everyone.”
The pain in his voice surprised Asher.
This was not the voice of a powerful businessman.
This was the voice of someone carrying regret.
“You were there?”
Lucas nodded.
“I was.”
Asher stepped closer.
“Then tell me everything.”
Lucas was silent for several seconds.
Then he began.
“Twenty years ago, your kingdom was the strongest among the Beast Clans. Your bloodline was respected because of the power you carried.”
Asher frowned.
“Power?”
Lucas looked at him.
“The Silver Moon bloodline was different.”
A strange feeling moved through Asher.
“What kind of power?”
Lucas didn’t answer immediately.
Instead, he pointed toward the wooden wolf.
“That belonged to your father.”
Asher looked down.
“My father?”
“He created it for you before the attack.”
The room became silent.
“He knew something was coming,” Lucas continued. “He knew someone would come for you.”
Asher swallowed.
“Why me?”
Lucas looked directly into his eyes.
“Because you were the future king.”
The words should have sounded impossible.
But they didn’t.
Not anymore.
Before Asher could respond, a sudden noise came from outside.
Lucas immediately turned.
His entire expression changed.
The calm man disappeared.
The dangerous Alpha King returned.
“What is it?”
Asher asked.
Lucas looked toward the door.
“We’ve been found.”
The lights in the building flickered.
A cold wind entered the room.
And somewhere outside, footsteps approached.
Slow.
Confident.
Someone was coming.
Someone who knew Asher was alive.
Lucas moved in front of him.
For the first time, Asher saw something unexpected in his eyes.
Not fear.
Protection.
“Stay behind me.”
Asher clenched his fists.
“No.”
Lucas looked at him.
“You don’t understand who they are.”
Maybe he didn’t.
Maybe he still knew nothing about his past.
But he knew one thing.
He had spent twenty years running away.
He was tired of running.
“I spent my whole life being afraid of something I couldn’t remember,” Asher said quietly.
His eyes hardened.
“I’m done hiding.”
The door slowly opened.
And a familiar voice filled the room.
“After twenty years…”
A figure stepped from the darkness.
“…the lost prince finally returns.”
