Chapter 2

2155 Words
Morgan rubbed his hair with a towel vigorously, almost tipping over in the process. He did a rather dramatic yawn before plopping down next to me on the couch.  He rolled onto his stomach and propped his head up with his hands. "Are you okay? Caesar wasn't too mean to you while I was in the bath, was he?" I shook my head and he grinned. "That's good- he can be a big bully to me sometimes."  He reached one hand out and started touching my hair again. I grabbed his hand and gave him an unamused look. No matter how many times I've told him not to touch me, he continues to do it. I usually didn't think much of it since he was like this with everybody. "Stop touching my hair."  He c****d his head and studied my appearance. "I've been thinking about cutting my hair to your length. What do you think?" Morgan's bright blonde hair was long compared to mine. It went just above his shoulders and was mildly curly. Unlike my brown hair, I kept it short but not too short where I couldn't do anything with it.  "I think it looks nice the way it is."  He hummed in thought and played with a strand of his hair. "Guys do like pulling it in sex." He suddenly looked up to me. "Are guys able to pull your hair too?" Something in my stomach swooped.  "Stop being such a perve." His baby blue eyes always held so much interest in them no matter what was going on around them. Right now, he had their undivided attention. "Unless," a teasing smirk pulled at his lips, "you're the one doing the pulling." He got on his knees. "Is that it? Under that quiet and shy persona you're actually a sadist?" He grinned and ran a hand through his hair. "You devilish man." I laughed and lightly pulled his chest. “Don't say things like that." A smile suddenly pulled at his lips.  My head was brought forward when he took a gentle fistful of my hair and pulled, making me let out a soft noise of surprise. "Or are you actually this shy masochist?" I focused on the collar of his shirt, unwilling to meet his eyes. His grip tightened. "I guess they are able to pull your hair."  His free hand grabbed my chin and tipped my head up. "Do you like when they pull your hair?" I swallowed dryly and slowly shook my head. "Really, you don't? You don't seem to mind right now." His fist pulled harder at my hair making my head rise more.  "That's enough."  His hands and body stopped touching me all at once. Caesar stood in front of me while looking down on Morgan. "Caesar," He complained as he rubbed his neck, "stop pulling so hard, it hurts."  "Stop being a brat, I leave you alone for five minutes and you do this. Harrison is our guest, you treat him nice." I was stiff the whole time Caesar fixed my disheveled hair. "Pets shouldn't look so unpresentable." He kept his palm on my head for a lingering moment before his phone started to ring again.  He sighed before reaching into his pocket. "Stop playing with him, Morgan."  Morgan frowned. “But he’s so cute. Like a pup, puppies like to play. Right, Harrison? You don't mind if I play with you, do you?" I pushed his hands away and puffed out my cheeks, defeated. No. Caesar receded into his room with his phone pressed to his ear. "I'm not a puppy, Morgan."  "But Caesar calls you a dog all the time and you don't care."  "It's different." I defended not meeting his gaze.  His lips twitched you. "Oh? I understand. You think a puppy is too feminine and a dog isn't? Or is it cause a puppy is small and cute?" "You're shorter than I am and I don't call you a puppy." "Only by an inch!" I tipped my head up and crossed my arms. An inch was an inch. "Besides, I can't be a puppy."  "Why not?"  "Because I don't want to."  "I don't want to!"  "But you're so adorable," He insisted. "And you follow everyone around like a lost little puppy. It suits you perfectly, wouldn't you say?" I was grateful when Caesar's voice caused both of us to look towards his closed door. I didn't know what else to say to him because he was right. "He sounds pretty mad."  "It's probably just work," He shrugged and inched off the couch, "I'll go see though, you stay here and wait for me."  "Okay." I nodded and relaxed into the couch.  "See?" He smiled and patted my head. "An obedient little puppy." I glared at his back as he walked away. I wasn't a puppy nor a dog. Staring off into space while waiting was a lot lonelier than I thought. When the home phone started to ring I was happy for the distraction. "Hello?"  "Hello! This is Kellen calling for Caesar."  "Oh, um, he's busy at the moment. Do you want me to give him a message?"  "Sure thing," She chirped. "His shipment came in just a couple minutes ago. It's ready for pick up at anytime." After thanking her we hung. Should I tell him? She did say he could pick it up anytime so maybe I should wait.  Gazing at my body shaped indent in the couch, I figured it couldn't hurt to tell him his package was ready. Anything was better than waiting.  I padded over to his door and knocked quietly. It took a few seconds for an answer. "What is it?" Morgan called. "Didn't I tell you to stay there?"  My mouth opened to speak but I struggled to get the words out. Maybe waiting would've been better. He sounded mad and Morgan never sounded anything less than giddy. "Uhh- never mind." I turned around quickly but was stopped when the door opened.  "Don't mind him, he's a bit grumpy right now." I turned back to see Caesar holding the door slightly open. Not enough to give me a view of his room. "What did you need?"  I blinked at him a few times, taking in his almost unnoticeable flushed cheeks. "Oh! Um, this lady called, Kellen I think it was, she said your package just came in."  His lips curled into a small smile and I could feel myself melt a bit. "Thanks for telling me. Morgan will be done in a minute and he'll come back out to keep you company while I sort a mess of mine." I nodded, head filled with nothing but his smile. "I'll make it up to you some time. I'm being rude locked in my room."  "It's all right," I rubbed the back of my neck. "Declan usually does that when it's related to work too." He gave me another small smile before shutting the door again.  This time, I didn't have to wait long until Morgan appeared. He came out of Caesar's room and huffed. "I need a drink after that."  "What happened?"  "My boss got mad at me because someone wouldn't do their job on time!" He raised his voice towards the end of the sentence and Caesar called back something that was too muffled to understand. "Then Caesar got mad because I accused him that it was his fault. Do you know what Caesar does when he's mad?" I opened my mouth but he answered for me. "Nothing. He does absolutely nothing which then makes me feel guilty and when I'm guilty I need a drink." He took a breath in and arched an eyebrow. "You want one too?"  "I'm okay, thanks."  "More for me." He went through a cabinet before pulling out a bottle of wine.    "How long have you been staying with Caesar?" I questioned curiously.  He sipped his drink and thought about it. "Maybe a month now, maybe a bit more. It hasn't been for very long."  "Who's idea was it?"  "Mine," He grinned proudly. "The first week staying with him was hell. His deadline was coming up and he snapped at me all the time but now he drives me anywhere and cooks whenever I'm hungry so I forgave him." He swirled his drink around in the glass and eyed me with a smirk. "Why? Are you jealous?"  I spluttered. "No! Why would I be jealous? You're just working."  "I suppose." He pushed his drink away and focused on me. "Would it bother you knowing that every night I sleep cuddled up next to him?"  "No."  "You make this adorable expression every time I mention Caesar. Your cheeks turn a light shade of pink and your eyes widen just a fraction." He motioned to my cheeks. "Sometimes they turn a dark red and I can't help but to wonder what you're thinking about. Do you picture yourself in his bed instead of me?"  What do I say in a situation like this? "No."  He made this amused expression and raised an eyebrow. "Really? You never picture yourself in bed with Caesar?"  "No, never."  "Not even once?"  "No." "Well, I'm sorry for accusing you." He rounded the counter and stopped in front of me. "You don't need to be jealous anyway, Caesar makes me sleep on the futon." He grinned, making his dimple pop. "I'm good at lying aren't I? My sister told me I was good at it a while back."  "You don't sleep with him?" "Nope." He shook his head. "I could teach you how to lie sometime. You're terrible at it."  "Shut up." I mumbled as be laughed and walked to the living room.  "I miss Declan." He frowned and ran a hand through his messy hair. "I can't see him for another six days. At least that's six days you'll have the house free." I shrugged. "If you do have a party you'd invite me right? I know I'm closer with Declan and Caesar over you but we're still friends."  "I'm not having a party but yes I'd invite you, you idiot." It's not like I had many friends besides them.  Caesar came out of his room again and walked past us to the kitchen.  I watched him distractedly. "Good! I'll bring the booze then?"  "Morgan."  "Hm? I was just speaking hypothetically." He exclaimed while hanging over the couch so he could view into the kitchen. "Harrison would invite you for sure so what's the harm?" Caesar simply shook his head and sifted around in the fridge. "What do you want  for dinner later, Harrison?"  "Pizza.” Morgan nodded firmly. "I was asking Harrison, he’s our guest.”  Morgan looked over to me and clasped his hands together while giving me puppy dogs eyes. "Pizza." He whispered pitifully.  "Morgan." "What? I was just asking him what he wanted."  I rubbed the back of my neck sheepishly. "I like pizza."  Morgan grinned and wrapped his arms around my neck to embraced me tightly. "I knew the first time I laid eyes on you that you were a mini Declan."  Caesar looked at Morgan with disapproving eyes. "Declan spoils you too much. It goes to your head."  "Do you see how he treats me, Harrison? You're such a bully Caesar. I have feeling, you know." Morgan sulked with a frown.  Caesar walked over to us before stopping right in front of Morgan. Placing a gentle hand under his chin, he lifted his head and looked down on Morgan with soft eyes. "I'm sorry."  "Do you promise?" He asked hopefully.  "I do."  "It's all right then." He was grinning again, making Caesar puff out a small laugh before ruffling his hair. I looked away, almost feeling like I was intruding. I willed the pout that begged to come out back.  "Do you still want pizza?"  “Mhm, yes please~” "What do you want on it?" Morgan listed off a number of different things before contradicting himself and starting over. This repeated a couple times before he finally settled on pepperoni. "Is that all right with you, Harrison? I can make you a separate one if you'd like something else."  I quickly shook my head when he caught my eye. "That sounds good." He gave me a knowing smile before looking back at Morgan. His hand slipped from his head back to his side.  "I'll start to prepare it later. I need to pick up my package."  "Can I go?" Morgan asked, already standing up.  "You want to leave Harrison here alone?"  "Oh," His face fell as he glanced over at me. "That would be rude."  "He can go if he'd like. Would you like that, Harrison?" His eyes fixated on mine again. The way he asked made me feel he already knew I'd jump at the opportunity to be close to him to him but I still nodded nonetheless. "Come on then." Morgan was the first one to the door. "Behave while we're there, Morgan. I don't want a repeat of last time." He instructed calmly.  Morgan's cheeks turned an almost unnoticeable shade of pink. "I will."  Caesar pressed the elevator button and smiled knowingly at him. It made his cheeks warm even more. "Good boy." ___________________________________________________ I hope you liked it. Please tell me what you think. Keep reading and enjoy :) What do you want to see in upcoming chapters?
