Willow POV
“You might as well come in, Caine.” I held the door open while I waited for him.
He looked at me with half a grin on his face as he shrugged. “Alpha wants to make sure you’re okay, Willow. I can’t blame him.”
I sighed. My emotions were still swirling, but I wasn’t at risk of breaking down again. I’d gotten that out of my system, at least. “And while I appreciate that, the crisis is over. But you don’t need to sit outside against a tree if you’re going to be assigned guard duty. May as well come inside where it’s comfortable.”
He climbed the steps and moved past me, taking a seat on the small sofa just inside the living area.
“The past day or two has been a lot. It’s okay to have a weak moment or two,” he said.
