I turned to Caine. “Are our men still in the woods?”
He nodded. “A group of them stayed behind to clean up. And be here if we needed them. Evander’s checking on them now. He’s headed there after you and he split.”
‘Evander. Status.’
‘Alpha. We’ve got two units in the woods around the town for now, keeping a loose perimeter. The other unit took the prisoner back to the pack while we were with Archer in the clinic.’
‘Did you hear that howl?’
‘Yes, we’re on it. Looks like just a few stragglers.’
‘Be careful. I don’t want another patient in this clinic. But handle it.’
‘Consider it done.’
