I huffed a laugh. “Oh no. That’s not for you.” His eyes lifted. “That’s because he thinks I don’t eat enough.” Damian looked at my plate again as I speared another bite of pasta. The pull of the bond tightened, approval humming through it. For a moment, the corner of his mouth lifted. “Smart man,” he said. Before I could respond, a booming voice cut across the dining room. “Madonna mia! You haven’t touched the bread!” Giorgio appeared beside the table like he’d been summoned by the offense.
