Logan didn't stay long after the series of questions. He walked over to Adrian and whispered something I didn't catch before walking over to me.
“Good luck.” He patted my shoulders and walked away from there, leaving me alone with him again.
“I'll be taking my leave also.”
I turned my back at him and headed to the door. My hands gripped the doorknob, and as I twisted it, I heard his annoying voice behind me.
“Where do you think you're going?”
I clenched my teeth, and my grip on the doorknob tightened.
What did he want now?
I pondered as I prepared to answer him.
“Home.”
He laughed.
Not the caring kind, the kind that showed he mocked me.
“Didn't you hear what I said earlier?”
I slightly turned my head over my shoulders so I could get a glimpse of his face.
He was handsome, no doubt, but being handsome with such a bad attitude made him unattractive.
“And what did you say?” I finally turned to him, my eyes fixed on him for a while as I watched his lips twist into a smirk. He was actually enjoying this.
“Well, hmm, let me see.” He lightly tapped his chin with his index finger.
“I recalled saying you weren't allowed to leave, didn't I?”
I blinked, shaking my head. “Did you just say that to me? How am I supposed to get ready for tomorrow?”
He scoffed. “Are you that dumb? Didn't you read the contract you signed?” He paused and then gasped in surprise, twisting his lips in a dark smirk. “Oh wait, I forgot; you can't read.”
I couldn't take this anymore. He was getting on my nerves and had succeeded in disrespecting me. I needed to put him in his place.
“You can't tell me what to do, and I don't owe you an explanation. I am your coach, and you have to listen to what I have to say.”
He scoffed. “Of course, but you can't break any of the contract rules. You're not allowed to.”
“What rules? There were no rules. If there was any, Logan would have told me about it.”
He shook his head again, muttering a word I heard very well.
“Dumbass.”
Wrinkles appeared on my forehead.
“You can't tell me what to do. I have to go prepare for tomorrow's training, so see you at 10am!”
I opened the door, and this time he didn't try to stop me. He watched me leave without saying a word, and I rolled my eyes.
It didn't take long before I got to the exit but discovered the door was blocked by two giant men. They were over 6 ft, both wearing black suits and glasses.
“Excuse me, I'd like to leave.”
My heart hammered in my chest as I faced them, but neither of them answered or even dared to move.
“Hello?” I tried to speak to them so they could finally leave me alone, but that didn't work.
“Ugh!” I stomped my feet and marched back to the room where he was waiting.
“Why won't your bodyguards let me go?”
He raised his brows. “Are you seriously asking me that question?”
“Who else?”
He shook his head, slamming his hands in his face.
“You're such a genius!” I didn't miss that sarcastic tone. “Didn't I say you can't leave because of the contract you signed? What is it you can't understand?”
I fisted my hands. “I want a copy of the contract. I need to look at exactly what I signed.”
He smirked. “With pleasure.”
He picked up the document that was lying on the counter next to where his wheelchair was.
“Here, feed your eyes.”
I nodded, pulling the document out of his hands. As I flipped it open, my eyes darting through the letters, I felt my heart skip a beat.
“Why wasn't any of this previously discussed?”
He shook his head. “Logan said there would be sacrifices to make. You were too excited to pay attention.”
I swallowed. Was I truly stuck here with him?
“This isn't fair! You didn't discuss it fairly!”
He shrugged his shoulders. “I suggest you just accept your fate. Logan talked about some sacrifices.”
I scoffed. “He wasn't specific!”
He rolled his eyes. “I'm sure you know breaking the contract rules will cost you a lot so just make do with what you have. As soon as I start getting better, you can take your face out of my house. The Butler will show you to your room.”
“I'll show you to your room.” The butler said.
I nodded, following behind him. My life just took the most awkward turn.

The next morning arrived faster than expected, and soon I stood in the training room dressed in the sportswear provided.
He rolled himself in, eyes staring at me as though he wasn't happy to see me.
“Good morning!” I greeted anyway. I needed this job, and besides, the pay was great.
He hummed. “What are we doing today?”
I smiled. “I feel some stretches, and then maybe you can tell me how you got the injury.”
I watched how his eyes turned dark and how he pressed his lips. His fists were also clenched while silence remained.
“Mr. Adrian?” I called, but he didn't spare me a glance.
“Weren't you provided details of this in the document the butler gave to you last night? Why do you behave like—”
“First, I'm not a dumbass.” I held out my index finger. “Second, if we are to work together to nurse you back to health, you have to do as I say.”
He hummed. “I thought you were here to help me walk again. I didn't expect you to also carry out a therapy session, hmm?”
I rolled my eyes. “Anything to get you better. You need to understand my methods are guaranteed to make you feel better faster.”
He shook his head. “I don't think I want you to be my personal trainer anymore.”
My eyes widened, but my lips slowly curled into a smirk.
“The contract states that only Logan has the ability to do that, and right now, he seems okay with whatever I'm doing.”
“What do you mean he—”
It was my turn to smile now. The look on his face was definitely something I loved to see.
For the first time, he looked defeated.
“What? Can't handle someone with the same energy as you?” I crossed my hands over my chest, but he smirked.
“No, you're precisely my type.”
