Ch 3

It's a letter I've written to her. Every bolded word is part of a question I'm going to ask her. She gets a hint: every place that we go today. For the rest of the morning, we ate her favorite snacks and watched her favorite movies of all time. Around 12 o'clock, I told her we needed to get ready. She took her bath and did her skincare as I watched from bed. She put on the first dress and showed it to me. I can't even speak, she's gorgeous in every way possible. We headed down to the car. I opened the door for her and she gave me a kiss on the cheek. I love her. I put the things in the car and we headed downtown. She keeps asking where we're going, but I keep quiet. Then we stopped in front of one of the best restaurants in the city. She jumps, "Omg, you didn't" she says, looking at me in shock. This is the place where we met. We go inside and everyone yells "Surprise, Happy Birthday Nel!!". She hugs me and kisses me before she pulls away, greeting everyone in the room. Everyone was happy drinking, talking to each other, and eating the food. She's talking to her best friend and they're just jumping up and down talking about how cool this is. I went up to them and hugged her from behind, kissing her cheek. "Hey, Kris," I said to her best friend. "Can I borrow her?" Giving her the signal. She, my whole family and Nellas' family are in on the surprise tonight. She gladly agrees and smiles as we make our way up to the second floor, her hand in mine. She looks at a big pile of gifts and hugs me again. "Open the big blue one", I whispered in her ear. She runs to open but stops and tells me to sit next to her. She's crisscrossed on the floor and I sit by her as she opens the gift excitedly. It’s another letter, another clue and she’s catching on to the hints. She smiles and pulls out her phone. “What do you got there?” I ask mischievously. “Your clues” she says smiling. “I’ve got two words, will and you” she says. “What’s this about?” she asks. “You’ll find out” I say to her. I got closer and moved her hair out of her face. I pulled her face slowly, bringing her closer to me. Then I kiss her softly and it escalates from there. Her lips are so soft and delicate I can’t let go. I pulled her on top of me. It gets intense and I don’t want to let go. I let go and we’re both breathing heavily and kiss her once more and I look into her eyes. She's so pretty, how did I get this lucky? Then we headed back to the party downstairs. The party isn’t over but we leave early. “There’s another place we have to be,” I told her. We got in the car and went to my parents' house. We get down and go into the house. “Dad,” she says, hugging my dad. “Hey mom” I say to my mom, she’s carrying her present to Nella. Nella happily hugs my mom and opens it. It’s a special edition of her favorite book. They always have the best presents. She has always been closer to my parents since the day we met. We all asked to the garden for brunch. “Where’s Kody?” I asked dad. He’s my younger brother. Dad gives me a sad look and I already know what he means. I started to get angry, he’s never here and this might be the biggest day of my life. Why can’t he just show up? I’m lost in my thoughts, but then she touches my hand and I’m brought back to reality. I looked at her and she gave me a reassuring look. It’s like she knows I'm upset but knows that her presence is enough to calm me down. We enjoy the rest of brunch and when it’s done I take her and we walk around the garden. It’s pretty big and there are many different flowers to look at. She loves that about it. We find a bench and watch as the leaves rustle in the wind and the birds fly from tree to tree. She lays her head on my shoulder, putting her arm around mine, and I read her favorite book to her. She already knows what’s going to happen yet she always reads it. I looked at my watch and it’s almost time. “Hey”, I told her, gently rubbing her hand. “We’ve got somewhere to go”, I said to her. She looks up at me and smiles. We say goodbye to my parents and they give us a big hug before we go. We get in the car and I blindfold her halfway there.
