Shit...
Did he really have to come now?
From the tingling on my cheek I was sure that the bruise was clearly visible and probably a bit swollen.
If I stayed quiet, maybe he would leave...
"Princess, I can hear your heart beat. I know that you are here, so open the doors and take your stuff."
Shit, annoying alpha powers.
"I am not proper. Leave the bag by the door, I will pick it up later."
"Darling, I can assure you that you don't have anything that I haven't seen before. Now open the doors and take the freaking bag before I throw it away."
SHIT.
I really wanted to refuse him, just out of spite, but I really needed the bag.
I pissed off both of my parents and it meant that they would probably punish me by not getting my stuff or throwing it all away. If that happens, I will really need that bag.
And my phone is in there... without it there is no other way I could contact Darcy,
Shit...
Taking a deep breath, I forced myself to rise to my feet. I took a moment to gather my thoughts and I reached for the handle, preparing for his reaction.
As I pulled the door fully open, I saw him standing there, with my backpack in his hands. It looked so tiny next to his huge frame.
Slowly, I let my eyes travel up his body, dreading looking at his face.
I know that it is silly, but for some reason, seeing pity in his eyes will make this whole situation that much more embarrassing and sad.
After taking another breath, I forced my eyes to look at him.
To my surprise, there was no pity in them, like I expected, but there were a lot of other emotions that were very hard to pinpoint.
After a moment of looking at me, he said.
"What did you do to earn that?"
There were little shades of mockery that I much more preferred to pity.
"And what makes you think that I earned this?"
He released a little full-chested laughter.
"I have spent a whole day with you darling. We both know that you are an annoying little princess that can't help herself but to piss off people that are stronger then her."
I rolled my eyes at his words and lowered my eyes to his hands and only now did I notice how hard he was gripping the straps of my backpack.
Gods, he gets pissed off easily.
"What ever, can I have my stuff now?"
He stared at me for another moment and then slowly extended me the backpack. Colin's face softened for a moment as he said:
"You should get some ice for that and take some painkillers."
With those last words, he turned on his heel and walked away.
Rude much?
I thought to myself as I took a step back and closed the doors.
While shaking my head, I walked to the bed and threw the backpack on it. I reached into the front pocket and pulled my phone out.
There was still no answer from Darcy...
What the hell is going on?
He never missed so many of my texts without any answer.
The pain in my cheek got worse and I knew that I had to take one of Colin's advices and I walked to the bathroom in hopes of finding some painkillers.
My mother may not really care about me, but she cared about the people that stayed in the house. She is known as one of the best host among Lunas.
Each guest room is stocked with everything and anything someone would need.
She has turned each room into a private hotel with fully stocked cabinets with high end designer stuff that costs more than most packs spend on food.
Sure, it was mostly done for the looks, she cared about what each and every person thought about her and it became an obsession of hers.
Somehow, in all that chaos, both of my parents' obsessions fit so well together that it was a surprise that they were not real mates.
I kneeled on the floor and opened the cabinet under the sink and, just as I expected, it had a first aid kit... and yes, painkillers.
Happy with my find, I quickly got to my feet when a quiet knock sounded on the door.
What the hell?
Who could this be...
My parents are still too pissed to even look in my direction, so this is definitely not them... then maybe Colin?
Slowly, I walked to the door and opened it, feeling sure that it would be Colin on the other side... but I was wrong.
In front of me stood a tiny girl dressed in the omega uniform.
"Can I help you?"
"Sorry miss, I was asked to bring you some food and an ice pack."
I stared at her feeling completely confused. Only now did I notice the tray in her hands.
Slowly, I opened the doors fully, letting her enter as my mind raced, trying to figure out who the hell sent her here.
"Leave it on the table."
With a slight nod she walked to the table and carefully placed it there. She reached to lift the silver lid, but I stopped her.
"It's okay, I will do it myself. Would you mind telling me who sent you here?"
She turned to me and, without lifting her eyes from the ground, she answered.
"I do not know his name, but he is the alpha that is going to stay in the house for the next week."
I blinked a few times trying to process what she said... the only alpha that I know is going to be here is Colin... and he wouldn't... why would he do this?
"Will there be anything else, miss?"
Her soft voice pulled me out of the storm of thoughts in my head.
"No... that will be all."
"Then I will be going, miss."
After a little courtesy, she left the room, quietly closing the door behind her.
