It felt like my words hung in the air as Darcy's body froze. His hands were still around me, but this time they became stiff. I'm pretty sure his whole body had just locked in, like this protective wall around me.
It took him a whole eternity to even take a breath after what he heard, and I was not sure what I should do now.
I know that telling him the truth was the right thing to do, but his reaction right now made me doubt it.
The dark animalistic look in his eyes returned and for a few moments I got worried that he would revert to his wolf being in control just like it happened yesterday, but when his eyes met mine, I saw his human side still there. Sure, his eyes were full of rage, but they were still human.
