The cave that night upon returning had a chill that even the fire could not chase out but my dogs and I had to eat and survive the coming darkness so I built the the fire up and started on the rabbit and chicken and the water for the black coffee I so despised and soon everything was ready. The coffee was more for the warmth to protect from the cold of the night and in the morning it would be to increase my alertness and the weapons were with in easy reach. The fire had been backed just so with enough wood to last to the early hours or the night and easy to restart then ensuring a warm start and breakfast as the sun rose.
