A little backstory

A few years before Amelia was born, her parents had to move to Oxgrove, a town where only wolf species lived, meaning they could fully be themselves in their human forms, they didn't need to hide their ears. When Amelia was born, her parents saw that she had dark brown ears, meaning that she was going to be an alpha.
When Amelia was old enough to start going to school she was bullied by Maximus. He knew she was an alpha and all he was ever going to be was a pack member because he had light brown ears. When Amelia was born, her parents had to send her to the town next to them, Windrip, because they lost their alpha female and alpha male in a fight. Amelia was to be the newest alpha once she turned of age, which was 18. She started at the school in Windrip in her junior year of high school. She was chosen to be the alpha since her mom and dad were alphas in Oxgrove and there were no offspring of the alpha female and alpha male, or are there?
Amelia knew she was going to be able to choose her mate. She was afraid that none of the males in her new school would be good mates or alpha males. She knew she could choose someone from Oxgrove or Windrip to be her mate; beta, gamma, and omega. When she met Adrian she thought he would be the one to be her mate. But there was something off about him.
*Amelia POV*
"Meet the new beta of the pack Adrian," I said
"Nice to meet you. I'm just a friend of Amelia's", Adrian says.
"Nice to meet you, Adrian, I'm Skyler," Skyler said while smiling and reaching her hand out
Adrian shook her hand and we heard the bell ring for us to go home.
"Do you guys want to come over for a little bit?" I asked as we walked out of school.
"Yeah sure. Do you guys want a ride?" Adrian said, pulling his car keys out.
"Sure," me and Skyler said at the same time
We all got in Adrian's truck and rode to my house. We got to my house after 30 minutes and Adrian parked behind my mom's Honda.
"HEY, MOM! I'M HOME AND I HAVE A FEW FRIENDS OVER! ADRIAN PARKED BEHIND YOU LET US KNOW IF YOU NEED OUT!" I yelled to my mom as we walked inside
"OK HONEY COME IN HERE FOR A MINUTE! I'M IN THE DEN!" I hear my mom yell back
"Adrian why don't you guys go to the theater and I'll be there in a minute," I say as I start walking to the den
"Can I say this house is huge," Skyler said with a chuckle as she started to follow Adrian to the theatre
I chuckle and head towards the den when I smell an unfamiliar scent so I slowly walk into the den
"Hello Amelia" I hear Max say
"Max! What do you want!" I say rushing towards him
He snarls and holds his hand up showing a knife, and I back off
"What do you want!" I snarl
"I want you to feel the pain I felt when my parents got killed and YOU became the ALPHA OF MY PACK!" He starts to yell
I growl and rush at him not caring about myself, I just want to save my parents. He slashes my arm and I yelp but takes him down.
"Go to the theater, Adrian is there," I say to my mom as I hold Max off.
"Get the HELL OUT OF MY HOUSE!" I snarl and my eyes become red
Max gets out of my grip and tries to s***h my stomach but I grab his arm and get the knife back
"LEAVE!" I yell and he runs off
I run to the theater to check on my mom
"Mom! Are you ok?' I say as I run to her
"I'm ok. Your dad’s out on patrol. I didn't know what to do. I'm sorry honey." My mom says as she sees the cut on my arm.
"What happened?" Skyler asked
"Max attacked me. I'm taking "his" pack." I say and do air quotes around his. "Mom this is my beta by the way," I add with nervous laughter
"Hi, it's nice to meet you. My name is summer but you can call me mom, and you can too Adrian I forgot to tell you last time." My mom says with a chuckle
"Hi mom, my name is Skyler." She says with a chuckle
I hear the front door open "Stay here." I say as I head to check it out
"I can't let you go alone if I'm going to be your beta," Skyler says following me
"Fine but stay behind me I have to protect you," I say walking a little faster than her
We walk to the front door and I see my dad
"Honey. What's wrong where's your mom?" He says once he sees me
"MOM! IT'S DAD!" I say and run up to him hugging him "Dad. Get protection for the house when you go out on patrol!" I say
"Why? What happened." He asks
"Max came over and almost killed mom," Skyler says as she sees me hugging my dad and crying
I hear footsteps and wipe off my tears and step away from my dad. I see some of the protection detail for my dad and I walk up to them
"Hey, I have a question for you guys," I say as I stand in front of them
"What is it, Mrs. Williams?" Charlie says
"Can a few of your guys stay back and watch my mom and also come with me to school. We had someone get inside today and almost killed me and my mom, along with my friends." I say showing him my arm
"Of course, we can Mrs. Williams. Mark and Jack you two are to stay with Mrs. Summer. Josh, you are to stay with Mrs. Williams and keep her safe." Charlie says to his men
"Thank you Charlie, and also you can just call me Amelia, you don't have to be so formal with me," I say with a chuckle
"Ok Amelia. And you're very welcome. Wouldn't want an alpha like yourself to get hurt." He says as he walks off
"Hey Josh, just so you know you can't walk into the school with me. As they don't know I'm alpha yet but I would like if you were outside somewhere to help me if I ever needed it, and you can call me Amelia." I say turning to Josh
"Ok, Mrs. Amelia." He says bowing
"I will need your number so I can send SOS texts if I ever need to," I say as I hand him my phone
"Ok, here's my number." He says as he takes my phone and puts in his number
"Thank you, Josh," I say with a smile
