Meet the Males

"Damn, you know how to handle yourself." Adrian says with a chuckle
"I learned from a young age. My mom taught me, actually." I say with a nervous laugh
"Hey, I'll see you tomorrow." Adrian says as the last bell rings
I tell Adrian bye and start my walk home passing all the beautiful houses on the way
"MOM! DAD! I'M HOME!" I yelled as I walked into the house
"OK HONEY! WE'RE IN THE DEN!" I hear my mom yell
I walk to my room and start on my homework
I hear my phone go ring, so I answer it
"Hey, do you have a second?" I hear Adrian say
"Yea. What's up?" I ask getting up from my desk
"So tomorrow is going to be a 'meet the males' kinda thing, all the males go into the auditorium and then one by one the females come in and meet all the males, and they talk to a few of them they think will be good mates. And the boys get a better chance to find out who the new alpha female is, that's why you can't stand like you normally do, I can help you if you want me to" Adrian says
"Wow, um yea I'd like that please. Let me ask my parents if you can come over to help me." I put myself on mute and walk to the den, I knock on the door
"Hey mom, dad, can one of my friends from school, who knows I'm alpha, help me for tomorrow so that I don't stand out tomorrow?" I ask after walking in
"Sure sweetie, is it a boy?" My mom asks
"Yea, but he knows. I didn't tell him, he figured it out. But I have to get back to my room, he's on the phone with me." I say as I leave
"Hey, sorry I got to talking they said you can come over." I say as I sit back down on my bed
"It's alright, just text me your address, and I'll be over in about an hour, unless you live farther away." He says with a chuckle and hangs up
About an hour later I hear a knock at the door, so I get up to get it but as I'm walking down the stairs I hear my dad and Adrian talking and laughing.
"There she is." My dad says with a smile on his face
"Hey Adrian, come on let's go into the theater since there's a stage in there" I say with a chuckle and wave Adrian to follow me
We get into the theater and I go up onto the stage and stand how I normally stand
"Ok. So you see the way you lean onto your left?" Adrian asks
"Yea? What about it, I've done it my whole life." I say
"That's an alpha behavior. The males will spot you almost immediately. You need to stand more like," He starts to move me. "This. See how much different it is?" He asks after stepping away
"Oh, I see it now." I say with a chuckle
"You think you got it from here?" Adrian asks
"Yea, I think so." I say laughing
I hug Adrian and thank him as we walk out of the theater.
"Hey, how'd she do?" My mom asks when we walk into the living room
"She is going to do good tomorrow, I believe it." Adrian says smiling at me
"That's good, I got figured out almost immediately when I was in school because I didn't know that we stand a specific way." My mom said chuckling
"Well I'm happy to help Mrs. Williams." Adrian says smiling
"Oh please, you can call me Summer, you don't need to put Mrs. in front of it." My mom says
"Ok Summer." Adrian says
"What's going on, How'd my little girl do?" My dad asks walking in the room
"DAD! I'm not your little girl anymore." I say laughing
"She did good, I don't think she'll get noticed tomorrow." Adrian says chuckling
"That's good." My dad says chuckling.
"Well I better get going, I have chem homework to do." Adrian says rolling his eyes
"Ok I'll see you tomorrow." I say and hug him goodbye
I close the door behind Adrian and head to my room
I finish my homework and head to bed. When I wake up the next morning I start my walk to school
"HEY! AMELIA!" I hear from behind me so I turn around to see Adrian
"Oh hey Adrian." I say smiling
"Do you need a ride to school?" He asks as he opens the door for me
"Sure. Thank you!" I say with a smile as I get in his truck
"You remember how to stand?" He asks as we get to the school and he gets out
"Of course." I say with a chuckle getting out and standing like he showed me
"Alright, I'll see you later." He says locking his truck up
I go to class and hand in my homework
"Hey Amelia." I hear someone say sarcastically
"What do you want Dean?" I say turning to face him
"Your not the alpha and I know that for a fact." He says laughing, "cause the alpha wouldn't like being called their own name." His friends start laughing
"Ok Dean. And who says your going to even be the new alpha male? Hmm?" I say with a smirk as I walk out of class and the teacher doesn't stop me
I head straight for the bathroom and look at myself in the mirror and watch my eyes turn sky blue
"HEY! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE TALKING TO ME LIKE THAT!" I hear Dean say as he walks into the bathroom
I quickly turn away from him and text Adrian an SOS, meaning someone is about to find out. and try to avoid Dean's face
"HEY! GET OFF HER!" Adrian yells coming in with the principal
I'm in a ball in the corner hiding my face when I feel a hand on my shoulder
"It's just me, you can look up now." Adrian says, and I slowly look up to meet his eyes, "your alpha eyes are so pretty." He whispers in my ear
"T-thank you Adrian." I say and hug him
"ALL MALES TO THE GYM AND ALL FEMALES TO THE LIBRARY!" We hear over the intercom
"Are you going to be ok?" Adrian asks pointing at my eyes
"Yea watch this." I say and blink a few times and my eyes are my normal hazel color, "see. Now go to the gym I'll see you in a little." I say with a smile
I walk into the library
"Hey are you ok? I don't think the boys in the class noticed but your eyes were sky blue right before you walked out." A girl comes up to me and says
"I felt them, that's why i just kinda walked out." I said with a nervous smile
"By the way my names Skyler, I'm the one Dean thinks is the alpha." She says and rolls her eyes, "I don't see how tho. You look so much more like an alpha to me at least." She says with a chuckle
"Hi Skyler, and thank you. I think we could become good friends." I say and lean in, "maybe you can be my beta?" I whisper into her ear
"Wait, are you being serious?" She says with a big smile.
I just nod and smile
"Thank you!" She says and hugs me
"Amelia, Skyler, Raine, Paige. Your girls turn" The principal comes and gets us
We all walk in and line up, me and Skyler closest to each other I see Adrian and smile, and he smiles back at me. Everyone voted Raine as the girl they thought was the alpha out of our group, and we all just chuckled
We all walked out and me and Skyler started talking
"I'm serious though Skyler I really like you, You're the first girl here to look out for me." I say smiling
"Hey alpha." I hear quietly behind me,
I turn around and Adrian is standing behind me and I chuckle
"Shh! People might hear you." I say chuckling
"He knows?" Skyler asks me looking confused
"I figured it out when she said she had a bad childhood. I've been helping her not get found out" Adrian said to Skyler and they both smiled
"Well Adrian meet the new beta." I say putting my arm around Skyler
