​Rebecca's POV ​When my eyes fluttered open, the cold, dark room was just beginning to fill with the pale gray light of 6:00 AM. I sat up quickly, bracing myself for the usual heavy pain in my chest and the freezing chills that had been shaking my bones all last night. ​But the pain wasn't there. My fever was totally gone. My body felt surprisingly warm, relaxed, and deeply rested, as if some incredible magic had healed me while I slept. ​I frowned in confusion, reaching down to pull the thin blanket back so I could get out of bed.
