The Long Wait

Never had the few moments deliberation seemed like an eternity as it now as my consciousness was ebbing away and my thoughts and vision became more and more mundane. It's as if the god was on its mood of some personal revenge from me so he made the clock extra slow. shuffling my feets I rubbed my eyes for what seems like fiftieth time opening them wide. As I flexed my arms hoping for some comfort from this stiff neck, the jingles of my bangles filled the eerie silence enveloping this dawn. Every nerve of mine was tightened with unbearable pain. This wait is really too much. This bridal etire was crushing my bones and my clear conscience was slowly drifting to edge. My gaze was turning repeatedly towards the sofa right in front of me and seemed like a welcoming friend. But I restrained to not give into tje temptation of running and lie in its warm embrace. The sudden growling sound in this dead silence startled me before I realized that the sound came form my own stomach. I couldn't take it anymore and decided to give in to my pursuer- the exhaustion. But unable to muster the courage of entering my in law's home on my own ,I held the wall for support and slumped down. My eyes grew heavy from the strenous effect of mental and physical exhaustion. Last one week was a total chaos, I was on night shift for entire week. Today was supposed to be my day. All I planned for was, my bed , popcorn and netflix but god had some extremely amazing plans and I became the Unwanted bride. No strength left, no desire to fight I slowly drifted off to tiring slumber , waiting for my in-laws to decide my future at their doorsteps, this unwanted bride
