“Damn this day,” Brandon grumbled as he wrestled open the door connecting the garage to the house. The keys promptly fell to the floor. “Damn it, damn it, damn it!” He yanked the keys off the floor and hung them on their designated hook. He leaned down to remove one of his loafers, and nearly tipped over. “Argh,” he snarled. “Honey, is that you?” Selene's voice filtered through the kitchen door into the mudroom. “Selene!” Maggie whined.
