The atmosphere that was built up inside my house was truly intense. While my mother seemed to be worried about the father who wanted to suddenly shower his love on me, I felt like I was being pulled apart from the middle.
"Before you leave, let me explain myself," the man spoke with tender eyes. "I--"
Unwilling to talk to him, I just asked him a simple question, "How dare you?"
"Honey, listen to me," the man was firm in his resolve of making me hear what he had to say.
I, however, didn't have the patience to hear him talk about the matters of his heart right in front of my mother. Since the day he left me, I had become the one to protect my mother.
However, I did jump the gun when I asked him, "Could you please leave?"
"Honey! No!" responded my mother while holding me back.
