{Lilliana’s POV} I looked over the three of them before realization hit me. “Coal!” I shouted, looking frantically all around me. I heard a soft meow, as he jumped into my lap. A sigh of relief left me as I pulled him to my chest, hugging him, and kissing his head. “Thank goodness you’re alright!” I said softly. “I wouldn’t know what to do without you.” I kissed the top of his head again, petting behind his ear, before looking up to the three women in front of me. “So.. I’m in the land of the gods?” I asked. Peonora moved forward, sitting on the ground beside me. “Yes child, and you aren’t safe here, so you must keep moving. There is only one place that will be safe for you.. the palace of the gods.” She said, pointing up behind her, and there I could see a massive palace far in the distance. “Everyone within the palace walls are in a deep slumber, and no creatures dare trespass, it is the only safe place in Elovair, and I’m afraid I must insist you go there as quickly as possible.” She sighed, turning and looking back to the other two women. “With the three of us, we should have enough magic to get you to the palace.. once there, wait for us, and we shall be there as soon as we can to help you find a way back to earth.” She said, before turning back to me and grabbing my hand. “It will take us a while to regain our magic and join you at the palace, but as long as you stay within the palace walls, you shall be safe.” She smiled softly, as the other two placed their hands on her shoulders. “Wait for us.. and change into those clothes, it’s the only way to protect yourself.” With those last words, the world around me began to spin, as wind whipped up in a vortex, surrounding Coal and I. I closed my eyes tightly, holding Coal and the clothes Peonora had given me to my chest. Once the wind stopped, and I felt myself on solid ground once again, I opened my eyes, I found myself in the middle of an overgrown flower garden. As I turned my head, I could see the palace behind me. It was massive, and completely chiseled out of marble. I looked down at Coal who was now peering into the palace behind me from my lap. “I think it’s safe to say that this isn’t some kind of dream.. right?” I asked. He shook his head, before jumping out of my lap and patting the clothes in my lap. I nodded, rushing behind some vines and changing my clothes, taking off my clothes, leaving on my white lacy underwear and bra, and tossing the rest of my clothes into my bag, before pulling on the dress Peonora had given me. It was practically see through, but it didn’t matter once I pulled on the cloak and covered myself up, pulling the hood over my face. I walked back out looking down at Coal, and doing a little twirl. “How does it look?” I asked. He walked up to me, and jumped into my arms, rubbing his head against me. “We should look around a bit.. right?” I asked. He turned, jumping from my arms and stepping out in front of me. “I’ll take that as a yes.” I smiled, following behind him as he began to walk towards the palace doors. As we made our way to palace, trailing carefully through the garden, I could see a fountain close to the entryway, it was grown over with golden vines, and as we stepped even closer, I couldn’t help but reach out to touch them. They were cold, and hard, they were made of real gold.. it was so strange, they had all of these imperfect grooves and chips in them, as though they were truly just vines. Whoever made these must’ve spent so long creating them to make them appear this realistic. I slid my fingers across them, before I felt a sharp prick, and quickly pulled my hand away, seeing I had cut my finger on a thorn. I pulled my finger to my mouth, soothing the sharp pain. Suddenly, the vines pulled away from the fountain, sliding slowly into the ground and disappearing. I looked to my side seeing Coal staring up at me with wide eyes. “That was.. strange.. right?” I asked. He meowed loudly before taking off in a sprint into the palace. “Coal, no!” I shouted, chasing after him. He ran through the halls, they were all dusty and cobwebs strung across the ceilings. I could see dust particles floating through the air as the sunlight poured in through the windows. I chased Coal down, finally finding him sitting on a grand piano in the middle of a dusty, dirty greenhouse looking room. “Don’t run away like that! You worried me!” I scolded him, walking to the piano and taking a seat on the bench. It was deadly silent all through the palace, leaving this sinking feeling in my chest. His paw reached down, tapping down on the key before he looked up to me, tilting his head to the side. “You want me to play something?” I asked him, reaching up and petting him. He meowed, and tapped the key again and I couldn’t help the giggle that left my lips. “Okay, okay, I’ll play you a song, maybe it’ll get rid of this weird feeling I get in here.” I smiled, placing my fingers on the keys. My fingers danced across the keys as I began to play the melody of, “Ceilings.” I looked to Coal who had laid down on the piano, and soon began singing to him, and for just a moment, it was like home.
