Serving The Young Masters

8 Down one corridor, I heard a lot of talking and noise, it seemed that area was very busy. As I crept down the hall, I finally came to a set of doors. I carefully peeked through, and saw it was the main dining area. I continued looking around, until my eyes spotted him. He was at the head of the table as if he was some kind of king. I felt my anger flare. Not wanting him to see me, I looked to my right and saw another corridor. I walked that way continuously until I ended up in the main butler’s kitchen, behind the dining room. There, I saw the servants and cooks working in perfect silence. It was so busy, it took some time for anyone to notice me, or so I thought. “Ah, there you are, we were wondering when you would show your face, said the voice of a woman." All motion and talking stopped as everyone turned to look at me. Finally, an older woman, small in stature, with graying hair pulled neatly into a bun walked over to me, with a friendly smile on her face, probably the first smile I've seen since coming here. My name is Magda, I’m the head of the kitchen. This is Henry, she turned and pointed to an older man who gave a nod and then went back to what he was doing. Turning my attention back to the old woman, she just stood and looked at me as if she was waiting for something. When I didn’t speak, she asked, Well, do you have a name? Still, I said nothing. She turned and called a young girl who appeared to be around my age, "Mizanni, come over here." The young girl came over and stood before us. She was pretty, slender, brown complexion, with short curly hair. She seemed to be extremely shy as she kept her head cast down. The old woman introduced us. This is Mizanni, you’ll go with her and learn the ropes.” What ropes"? I asked. You’ll work in the main kitchen, serving the young masters their meals. I looked at her in disbelief. A f*****g servant, a waitress?, I scoffed to myself. Who the hell were these people? I started to protest, then I thought, this may be a way to get my lick back on that bastard that choked me. I simply nodded and looked at Mizanni, she sheepishly looked at me from under her long eyelashes, then turned and grabbed some trays of food. When my legs didn’t move to follow her, the old woman asked, Well, what are you waiting for?" an invitation. I glared at her but said nothing. Go get the tray with the espresso, coffee and tea. Be sure to grab the sugar, honey and spoons; be careful not to burn yourself, the water has just been boiled. Mizanni will tell you how to place it on the table. With that she turned and went back to her tasks. I walked over to the counter, there was a tray filled with espressos, coffee, hot water for tea. There were also lemons, sugar cubes, creams. I was immediately struck with an idea. I grabbed a fork and small knife, shoved them in my pocket and then grabbed the boiling water. Mizanni just looked at me but didn’t say a word. I followed her through the large double doors. She began to walk around the room. When she moved, I saw him. He was sitting with his back facing me. I could be mistaken, but I can swear I saw his back stiffen, as if he knew I was there. Without further hesitation, I hurriedly walked up to him, and before he could move, I threw the hot boiling water all over his back. I saw a flash of movement, and before my mind could process it, I was grabbed by my throat, yet again and pushed against the wall. Everyone else in the room seemed shocked at what had just happened. Nobody moved at first. Then a string of curses roared out of his mouth, as he nearly choked the life out of me. At that sound, the other men present, just to their feet, just a few coming to where we were. I saw his twin and the other two men I had seen with him before. They all rushed him and tried to pull him off me. Losing my breath and gasping for air, I clawed at his hands, trying to get him to release me, which did absolutely nothing to break the hold on my neck. I then fumbled, trying to reach into my pocket. I grabbed the fork and stabbed him in the hand, which made him grunt in pain, then reapply even more pressure on my neck. I started seeing stars and felt like I would lose consciousness. I grabbed the knife from my pocket and stabbed at his wrist. He hissed in pain, he loosened his grip, which I took advantage of and stabbed him again. He let go of me as I slid down the wall to the floor, coughing and struggling to catch my breath. I looked up and saw Mizanni and the old woman standing there with shock and fear on their faces. I didn’t dwell on them as I needed to focus on him. I saw him being pulled away by his brothers and I stood up. The brother with the green eyes yelled for me to get out of there as they struggled to hold him. Instead, I ran towards them and punched him in the face. He went nuts. I saw murder in his eyes. He flung his brothers as if they were nothing more than ragdolls and charged after me. I turned to run, knowing I wouldn’t stand a chance if his face was anything to go by. He caught hold of my shirt, then suddenly I fell forward, falling against the wall, hitting my head. When I looked up, I saw his brothers had a hold of him again, screaming for me to run. The knock on my head dazed me and I couldn’t find my strength to move. Darkness threatened to take hold of me. Before my eyes closed, I looked up and saw the strangest thing, yet another man with the same face, another twin?
