SERENE'S POV
They left me in the office, and I sat there in pain, making sure they had left before trying to get up.
Seconds later, I tried to get up but kept falling back down.
“Do you need help?”
I heard a voice ask from the office doorway, and I looked up. It was one of the maids that I had befriended when I first got here, one of the ones that were nice to me.
“Yes,” I replied. “Yes, I need help,”
She came over to my side and wrapped her hands around me gently, lifting me up.
I held the tears threatening to burst as she placed her hand on the spot the Alpha had kicked earlier.
“I'm sorry,” she said when she saw me wince.
A step at a time, we made our way into my bedroom, and she gently lowered me onto the bed.
