Alpha Roman

Serene's Pov I stared out the window of the car, watching as the trees and houses blurred together. My mind was a jumbled mess, fear and panic clutching hard at my insides. How did I end up as a breeder of the cruelest Alpha? How - why had he chosen me? What sort of rotten luck did I have? First, my father had been killed by rogues, leaving my mom and I to a life of hardship, the both of us had been barely surviving and now I was gone too, leaving her all alone. And there was no going back to her. I was no longer hers, or anyone else. I was now a prisoner to Alpha Roman, his to do as he wished. As the car slowed to a stop in front of a mansion that I knew was his, I knew this could never be my home. I couldn't, wouldn't stay here. I had to think of a way to escape and leave. Maybe my mom and I could — The car door jerked open, breaking me out of my thoughts. “Step out,” came the gruff voice of the guard. Trying my best not to shake, I did as told, my heart beating wildly. “Follow the Alpha,” he instructed again and I complied. I followed the Alpha into the house abd silently up a flight of stairs, soon coming to a stop in front of a room. “This will be your room,” he said, his deep voice sending shivers down my spine and rendering me voiceless. At my silence, he said, “I expect a reply when i speak to you,” I swallowed hard, trying to find my voice. “S-sorry, Alpha. T-thank you, sir. I'm happy to be here,” I said, my voice barely above a whisper. I followed him into the room and waited, head bowed, while he watched me. “There are a few rules you will need to abide by if you want to live for a very long time,” he began and I managed not to swallow. “Y-yes, sir,” I stammered again in acknowledgement. “As from today, your body belongs to no one else but me. If another man so much as touches the hair on your head, you'll pray for death but you won't find it,” He paused and looked me over slowly with dead and dark eyes that rivalled that of the devil. “Do you understand me?” “Y-yes, sir. I understand y-you,” “Good,” he said and went on, “Anytime I call for you, no matter where you are or what you're occupied with, you must drop everything and come straight to me. My pleasure is your main concern and anything else takes the back seat. Do you want me to repeat, Serene ?” “No, Alpha. No, sir.” “You must not in any circumstances disobey my order or try to go against it. You will pay with your life the day you try such. I am not a man of mercy or forgiveness.” “I un-u-nderstand you clearly, Alpha Roman. I w-will never go against your words.” His words sent chills down my spine and I wondered if I would able to pull through with my escape. But I knew I had to. There was no life here for me. I had to leave. Just then, a knock sounded at the door. “Come in,” said the Alpha. The door opened, and a tall, curvy woman entered the room. She had shiny golden hair and a wreath made of jewelry round her head. Alpha Roman spoke, “Serene , this is Ianthe. The pack's priestess. She assists me in the running of the pack and is to be respected at all times,” His voice held adoration for her. “Ianthe, this is my new breeder Serene ,” There was something like hostility in her face as she ran piercing, shrewd eyes over me and I immediately knew she did not want me here. I didn't want to be here too. "Welcome, Serene ," she spoke, her voice as cold and unnerving as her eyes. “I hope you'll enjoy your stay here with us,” Alpha Roman stood up. “The maids will come wash you up and bring you some food.” “Yes, Alpha. Thank you, Alpha,” I kept my head bowed until he left the room with Ianthe. Goddess. I had to get out of here tonight. I couldn't imagine his hands on me, his body on mine. Despite his warnings, I knew I would hate myself forever if I didn't try and escape. A knock on the door startled me and I jumped. “Come in,” I called. The door opened and a maid came in. She smiled, eyes twinkling, dimples deep. “I'm here to help with your bath,” “I — okay,” Within minutes she had the tub filled with water and she led me to the bathroom, chatting veraciously. I decided to ask her more about Alpha Roman and the pack. “I'm new here,” she said, “so I don't really know much.” “Oh, okay,” I replied, trying to mask the disappointment in my voice. Soon we were done with the bath and she began to rub ny body with a oil that had an intense scent. “Is this necessary?” I asked her, uncomfortable as she rubbed in between my thighs. “Yes, it is.” Minutes later, I was dressed. As she made her way towards the door, she turned to me and said, “Dinner will be brought to you soon so I hope you're hungry,” “Wait,” I called, “so I don't have to eat with the Alpha or anybody?” “You normally would but he has a prayer session with Ianthe at the temple tonight. So you'll be all alone.” This was it. This was my chance, I thought, my heart beating wildly in my chest. “Okay,” I said, trying to still my voice from shaking. “Thank you.” Tonight was the night and I would not waste it. **** I paced my room when she left, unable to keep calm. The door burst opened and I turned in alarm. It was a maid, and she was carrying a tray of food. She smiled at me sadly, pity in her eyes. “Hello.” “H-hello,” I stammered back. “I brought you dinner. Bet you're hungry.” “I am,” I admitted, my stomach making a loud noise as the smell of food wafted into my nose. When she left, I settled down and ate as much as I could keep in. Although I was starving, I was feeling too nervous to eat much. Soon I couldn't take anymore and shoved the plate away from me. I had barely placed down my cup of water when the door opened again. It was Alpha Roman.
