MY LITTLE WIFE...

1280 Words
ALICE Since college started, I have been drenched in work. Really! When you are busy, you don't have to procrastinate at all. A week went by just in a split of time and it is already Saturday. Prerna Annay (Elder Sister) has been nagging me to come to her birthday. She is flooding my inbox with her messages. I gave a lot of thought to whether I should go or not. But this is the first time that I have made a friend other than my usual ones, hence I've decided to go. I really have the temptation to see how these elite people celebrate their birthday. Well, to be sincere, that is one reason that I made up my mind to go. I have not been into such bigger parties and it is the Nembangs’, one of the prioritized families at Darjeeling that is hosting today’s one. It is natural for me to have such kinds of temptation after all. The Nembang's are a brand in itself. They are pretty famous in town. It is said that they used to be the richest family in the 80s and 90s. I even heard stories that this family was the first billionaire family in town. But now their business has shrunk to a great deal. Still, they are honored in society. My friends do not even fall anywhere near the height of their shoes when matter comes to weighing their finances and well; for me, I am just the dust that gets constantly grinded over their influence. I am just a nobody. Let’s just forget about my presence over here. I am not even visible from the perspective of owning financial power. Prerna Annay and her family are that rich….F.I.L.T.H.Y. R.I.C.H. The eldest daughter of the owners of Saniddhya Co. Ltd. Prerna Nembang is nothing like a regular elite. She is well behaved, gorgeous and kind. Sannidhya Co. Ltd. are marriage planners and well known for their work. So, today's party is thrown by such a respected household and I have to see it with my own eyes; as to how the well-behaved elites party in real sense. .-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-..-.-.-.-. I am draped in a baby pink A-line floor length gown and I have done a low side bun. The dress is not revealing but it has a V-neck which is quite deep. I have paired my dress with a silver pendant and a matching set of earrings which has a swan in the middle, whose eye is emerald and its head and feathers are glittering silver. My buckle closure heels are shining silvery……. on the front two straps as well as along the buckle, and the same is the case with the clutch with a silver string, only different in the aspect that it is pinkish with a silvery touch to it. Even though the weather at Sonada and Darjeeling is cold, I know that it is just a matter of time that once you are at the party, the temperature starts rising and, for that reason, I am not wearing a coat. On the contrary, I have draped a fluffy and soft pashmina shawl around my shoulders which isn't thick enough but providing adequate heat to my body. Prerna Annay said that she’d send her driver to pick me up. But once I reached the main road, I found a tall and seemingly lean man leaning in his all-black KTM Duke, with his helmet on the side. I guess I should wait because Annay's driver will probably come in a car and not in a two-wheeler. However, once my phone chimed in with the message displayed on the screen, that man turned to my side and I was startled to see the same disturbingly annoying face of THE GREAT PRIYAM FEZONG. “Sorry cutie pie. There is a change in the plan. You are coming here with my boyfriend!” Prerna Annay’s message read so. ‘My bad luck!'. I cursed inwardly because I was not expecting to be riding a bike with a person that laughed at me. I had no option left than to curse within my head. “Hello my little wife…long time no see.” Priyam says, approaching to where I stand right now with that same smirk, the exact same one that I hate the most. ‘Mr. Managing Director, I was least expecting to see you!.’ I retorted my vengeful reply and, not to forget, I rolled my eyes as dangerously as possible. “Woah! Do you have a company that I should know? My little wife”. He asked me again shamelessly. I made him aware that I didn't like his presence around me; but here he is, referring me to being his wife. People these days are really insane! ‘I suppose Mr. Managing Director has turned blind. Is there anyone else except me and you on this empty road?’ Well, that was the truth. It was just me and him in the black-coated road underneath the roadside lights. So how dare he be trying to pick up on me? I had to let him fall back to his place after all. And the highlight here is I am hell annoyed by him calling me as his wife. He shrugged coldly and put the helmet on top of my head. 'Stinking monster ; he ignored me flatly again.' [I don't like to be ignored in the first place. Arrrghh! I hate this man.] ‘What are you doing?’ I stepped back because I wasn’t prepared for him to do that. “We are driving for nearly 45 minutes and you are not quite accustomed to the speed at which I prefer to drive. If you happen to jump off my bike, then, at least you should protect your head, right?” His brows are raised questioningly. It seems he is having quite a lot of fun right now. ‘Who wants to drive with you anyway?' I spat back…again! [Damn your mouth Alice, you are already provoking the beast. I scold myself internally.] “Whatever!” Just one word and removing the gloves from his hands, he loosened my side bun. Yes, the same hairstyle on which I had invested 30 minutes of my valuable time. He ruined my hair bun and I can’t believe it. But when he slowly slid that helmet upon me and neatly arranged the hence, free-flowing strand, I stupidly stood there. I couldn’t move nor could I scold him. [Wow. This s**t is happening again. I don't know why my feet turn into roots binding all the soil particles whenever he is around. I hate to act this way. Stupid Alice, Behave!]. “I will try to drive as slowly as possible. Do not be afraid, okay?” His voice this time was soothing and I was ashamed of myself that I was nodding my head in approval. My breathing ceased when he undraped the shawl I was wearing and put it across his neck and with just one swift motion he put his black leather jacket on top of me. I was dumbfounded. “Alice, you need to wear real clothes. Common put this one first and we will head towards the venue.” What was that again? Did he just call me by my first name? [s**t Alice! You have to control your bad habit of OVERTHINKING.] [What were you even anticipating?] [Do you want him to call you LITTLE WIFE?] [Geez! Of course not.] I swiftly put my hands in his warm jacket, it had furs within and it felt so soft. Meanwhile, the question and answer round is continuing inside my brain.
