8. Learning to be a Dragon

the sun came up and hit my eyes so hard I saw it through my eyelids. I rose from my bed staring beside the bed, the boy was gone. I decided I need something for the enterance. being woken up by sun streaming into my eyelids, into my brain, into my soul gets very annoying, but I have not enough money, so I decided to try and get a job in the nearby town.i put in resumes at every bakery, retain and let place, hoping to get a job somewhere I'm useful. I had my phone charged at the local McDonald's, at a table with an outlet. I had to stay for over an hour but it was charged. I got back to my cave at around midday, without a notice for a job. but it hasnt been that long and it's only D1. I come back to the boy, cooking food on a fireplace. "want some food?" he asked. I readily agreed, and so did my stomach. loudly. we ate plentiful. he thought me what it means to be a dragon. U have to be loyal, fierce, and very protective. because I'm just a human now without my dragon the female mate protects the male from intruders and threats. U also need to hoard something. yes, all dragons like shiny things, but shiny things are not a hoard. a hoard is typically a collection of things that resonate with the female. some choose rocks, gems, crystals, some choose stamps, hey a mermaid chose human things. so, what's your special interest? I had to think. I didn't think I had one, but then I realised shiny things are my thing. specifically shiny rocks. I told him this and he had a few hundred to start me out. he said that we are a solitary species, that we love alone with our respective families. there Is no alpha or Luna. only loneliness. he said that like he had experience. "what happened?" I ask. Max looked pained. "Once a child is fully grown, the parents take them on a trip. its supposed to be a surprise so the parents blindfold them and take them far away. then they put them safely in the ground in a human town and remove the blindfold. before they have time to process, their parents are usually gone by then.they are expected to stay away from the family they had and make one of their own. without a goodbye, no emotion, just abandonment in a human town. they need to scour that town for a necklace. sometimes they don't find one and need to live a human life. like your parent or grandparent. that's why U probably were raised human with no idea who U were. it a very trauma inducing process. no visiting, just forgetting and moving on. its very unemotional." he described. the look of shock on my face was profound. I had no Idea! I pulled him into a hug that maybe lasted a bit too long. then he kissed me again, and I kissed back, soon we were entangled doing the nasty. he was huge and I was tight and small. but we came together. no protection, no preparation, just carnal desire. then he hit me with "oh also, Dragons are very fertile, it takes one to two times to get pregnant." I wasnt ready for a kid! I just found out I'm a dragon! I climbed off him and spiralled. what If I give birth as a dragon and the child is malformed? what if I'm not a good mother? what if what if what if? then Max was beside me, still naked, it will be ok, we are in this together. I barely know this dude. only met him a few days ago. that's not long enough to have a CHILD with him! I'd have to do this all alone. the pain alone. I was so scared. but Max was there. helping me, supporting me, empowering me, maybe it will be okay after all.
