Chapter 18

About a week later….. Cameron       I found myself at Kenny’s house with Tasha. Kenny was in the kitchen making Tyrel’s bottle. I was sitting on the couch playing around with Kelis, Maryah and Tasha when I looked up to see the most beautiful woman standing there watching us.  I felt my mouth beginning to water as I looked at her gorgeous, uncovered legs under her jersey top.  “How’d you get in?” Rachel finally asked.  Tasha and I both looked at Maryah.  “Kenny said it was okay Mommy.”  “Where’s Kenny?”  She asked as the anger flooded in her face.  “Right here.”  He said poking his head out the kitchen.  She looked as though she was going to kill him.  “Calm down, Mommy Dearest.  Maryah asked him to take her to Disney World.”  She looked at Cameron and then Maryah.  “Babe, we went there for your birthday already.”  “Mommy, I know.  I wanted to go with you, Kelis, Cameron and Tasha.”  “Today isn’t a good day, babe.”  “But Mommy everyone’s already here.”             She looked at Kenny as he laughed.  “Rachel, the man isn’t going to bite, dam.”  “I don’t like him!  Who uses their child to get to someone!”  “Rachel, you are tripping bad.  He didn’t set this up, your daughter did.  He went along with it just to make her happy which is exactly what you’re going to do.”  “She’s just a kid, what kind of man lets a child run him?”  I couldn’t help but laugh as did Kenny.  “Rachel, go get dressed and stop tripping.”  “I’M NOT GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!”  I looked away to keep from laughing but couldn’t help it.  That seemed to really piss her off.  Instead of going off again she turned to walk away.  She stopped when she saw Maryah was sitting there trying her hardest not to cry.   “Look I’m sorry but we’re not going to Disney world today.”   “I’m sorry Mommy.  I wasn’t trying to make you mad. I just wanted us to have fun today.” Rachel  I stood there staring at her for a moment as the world’s biggest asshole stamped across my forehead.             I picked her up and kissed her then walked back to my room.  I didn’t realize Traci was following me until I sat on the bed holding Maryah.  She sat next to us.  “Why can’t y’all go to Disney World today?” She asked.  “I’ll have to be nice.  I don’t feel like being nice.” “To who?  Cameron?  When are you ever nice to him?”  I gave her a dirty look.  “I was nice today to him.”  She laughed.  “When Rachel?”  “I didn’t curse at him, yet.”  She shook her head at me as we laughed.  “Just go.  It’ll be fun.  Plus, Ms. Thing already packed up for it.”  she said gesturing towards the doorway where Kelis was struggling to drag her suitcase.             We couldn’t help but laugh.  I looked in my lap at Maryah as she sadly watched me.  “What?”  “Mommy, he’s really nice to me.  If you hang out with him, he’ll be really nice to you too, and you’ll like him too.”  “That’s right Ryah, tell her.”  Traci added.  “And it’s not fair that you always mean to him for no reason.”  “Babe, I have reasons for being mean.”  I said looking away.  “What reasons Rachel?”  “He was probably aggravating or being an asshole or something.”  “Is that really what you want to teach her?”  We sat there for a moment staring at each other.  “Ryah go get dressed babe.”  Traci said making her jump up and kiss us.  Then she ran out the room.  “You go get dressed too.  And you better be nice too.”  “f**k you and nice!”  I snapped making Traci laugh.             After we got dressed and ate breakfast we were on the road to Orlando.  I was sitting next to Cameron in the passenger seat of his Escalade listening to the girls in the back play around and laugh.  “Is this your first time going?”  Maryah asked Tasha.  “I haven’t gone since I was like five.”  “I want to be in the parade this time.”  Maryah announced making me smile.  “You have to be a Princess.”  Kelis said.  “I am a princess.”  “No, a real one.”  I shook my head as they began arguing.  “Hey! Everyone in the back seat getting chauffeured to their castle is a princess.”  Cameron said fiddling with the radio as he drove.  I looked behind me as the TV screen opened from the ceiling.  “What are you doing?”  I asked as he glanced at me. “Would you like to listen to three kids argue every three seconds?”  I thought about it for a moment.  “Mommy, can I be Princess Tiana?”  I looked at her.  “Only if you kiss a big slimy frog.”  “You’re nasty Maryah.”  Kelis said making me laugh.  “Why?”  “You kiss a frog, and you get bumps everywhere.”  “I did not kiss him.”  “You’re going to.”  “No, I’m not!”  “Frog kisser!”  Kelis said as her and Tasha laughed.  “No, I’m not!”  I looked away to keep from laughing as Kelis imitated her kissing the frog infuriating Maryah.  Oh my God, I thought looking at Cameron as he looked at me.  “Maybe you two need to separate for a while.”  I suggested as Cameron started the movie.  “NO!”  They both whined as they hugged each other.  “She’s my sister.”  Maryah said kissing Kelis as they clung to each other.  “I’m not a frog.”  She mumbled making us laugh.  It was so funny to just sit back and watch those two together.  They sat there cuddled with each other watching the movie just like Traci and I would.  I sat back in my seat and enjoyed their laughter and happiness.  I spent the entire day laughing at them and enjoying their company.  It was now the middle of the day.  We had just finished lunch and the girls wanted to ride the teacups.  I was standing there watching the girls and taking pictures of them when I noticed Cameron standing next to me.  He looked at me as he ate his six-foot-high ice cream cone.  “You are always eating.”  “I was locked up for over five years.  I’m trying to make up for it.”  I looked away to keep from laughing.  “Have some?”  I couldn’t help but laugh.  “Why would I want to share your spit with you?”  He looked at me.  “Most people would say, ‘No thank you.”  “CAM, I WANT SOME!”  Tasha called running to him followed by Kelis and Maryah.  He handed her his cone as I gave the girls their cotton candy back.  “I say thank you.”  We looked behind us at a woman who was sitting there watching Cameron. “I say thank you a lot.”  She said looking him up and down.   I looked at him as he looked at me.  We both walked away.  About an hour later we were watching the parade.  I was standing behind the girls, as they excitedly watched, sipping my Slurpee when Cameron appeared next to me again.  I looked at his nachos he was eating as he looked at me.  “Have some?”  I looked at him and then the nachos.  “You know I love some nachos.”  I said taking one as he laughed.  I froze as he stared over my head like he was going to kill someone.  I followed his glance to the guy standing next to me staring at me.  He smiled at me.  I noticed he had a very beautiful smile.  I gave an uncomfortable half of a smile as I took Cameron’s nachos making him look at me.  “You didn’t.”  He said as I walked to the bench.  “I did.”  He took my Slurpee as we sat there eating nachos.  “What flavor is this?”  He asked.  “Cherry, orange and grape.”  “It’s not bad.”  He said sipping more.  “Yes, I know.”  He looked at me again as I rolled my eyes at him.  “I’m being nice, and you keep being an ass.”  I looked at him as I stuffed the nachos in my mouth.  “Yep.”  He smiled.  “Why?”  I stared at him as I chewed and thought about it.  “I don’t know.  It’s just easy I guess.”  “It’s easy for you to be mean to me?”  I took my Slurpee and took a sip as I gave him back the nachos.  “Most of the time.  Sometimes I really have to try hard.”  He laughed as I smiled.   “I like that.”  I looked at him.  “I knew you like when I’m mean!”  He laughed again.  I smiled again as I glanced at the girls who were going crazy over Princess Jasmine.  “I meant your smile.”  I looked at him.  “Look, don’t think just because I shared my Slurpee with you, I like you.  It’s a damn overpriced Slurpee.”  He laughed again.  “Girl we just shared spit. We’re bonded for life now.”  “That’s gross.”  “Well, it’s the truth.”  “Shut up.”  A few hours later we were driving away from Disney World.  We had only gotten down the street before the girls were in the back seat fast asleep.  I sat back in my seat exhausted and full as Cameron drove.  “Do not under any circumstances throw up in this truck.”  He said making me look at him.  “Who said I was going to throw up?”  “I told you not to eat that corn dog.”  “I love corn dogs!” “Yeah, but they do not go with everything we ate today.”  “Nothing you ate today goes together!  You ate ice cream and nachos together!  Oh, and Slurpee and cotton candy and funnel cake.”  He laughed.  “I ate two cheeseburgers and French fries too.”  “Really?  When?”  “You took Kelis and Tasha to the bathroom.  Maryah wanted some fries.”  “That’s why my baby threw up?”  “No, she threw up after we ate those wings.”  “Who had wings?”  “Me when you were eating that nasty ass corn dog, I told you not to eat.”  “I thought you were eating a cheese steak sandwich.”  “Yes, with my wings.”  “She’s not use to eating like that.”  “I’m not either.”  “Why didn’t you get sick?”  “I ate prison food for over five years.  Not much is going to make me sick except maybe that corndog.” I shook my head as we laughed.  “It was good.  I hadn’t had one in a while.”  He smiled at me.  “I’m glad you enjoyed it.”  An hour later we were walking into our hotel room.     In my arms was Maryah.  Cameron was carrying Tasha and Kelis.  We laid them in the bed and covered them up.  “Goodnight Mommy.”  Maryah mumbled falling back into her coma.  I smiled at her as I kissed her.  “Goodnight baby.”  I laid there next to her for a moment rubbing her back as I watched her sleep.              She was so beautiful.  I loved to watch her sleep.  Her beauty was enough to make me sometimes forget the love of my life was dead along with our sons.  Sometimes it made me remember every single detail.  I closed my eyes as I remembered those gunshots that took away everything.  I saw Roni lying there, with the gaping hole in his chest, bleeding out right before my eyes. I remembered how unbearable it was to breathe while I was holding him.  I remembered looking into his lifeless eyes and wishing and praying to wake up from this ungodly dream and couldn’t.  I remembered how cold, and hollow his tiny body felt in my arms.  I remembered closing his eyes so my little prince could go to sleep forever.  I remembered whispering to him as I walked down the street with him how much I loved him and how blessed I was to have gotten to know him, and how lucky I was to have him in my life.   I remembered hugging him and him not hugging me back.  That broke my heart all over again and made me feel like the worst mother ever.  Here I am at Disney world and they are lying in a box six feet under.  How did I live, and they didn’t?  No matter what a mother is always supposed to protect their child and I had failed twice. Cameron             I laid there in the next bed with Tasha watching Rachel across from me in the next bed watching Maryah.  I was happy I got to spend the day with her, and she got to know me a little bit.  I watched her tears drip out her closed eyes as her heart broke in her face.  What’s wrong?  I thought watching her tears flood the bed.  I sat up.  What do I do? I wondered. I know if I hug her, she’s going to fight me.  I looked back at Tasha behind me wondering what to do.  I finally walked into the bathroom and grabbed some tissue.  I walked back to her as her tears streamed harder.  I knelt beside her and began wiping her tears away.  She opened her eyes and looked at me.  “What are you doing?”  “Wiping your tears now let me.”  “Leave me alone.”  She said trying to push my hand away.  I grabbed her hand then continued to wipe them away.  “You don’t have to tell me why you’re crying if you don’t want to.  We don’t have to talk at all.  You can cry, and I can sit here, and you pretend I’m not here.  Then afterwards we can pretend it didn’t happen.  But I am going to stay right here, because this is all I know to do without holding you and telling you it’s going to be okay.  Is that okay with you?”  She nodded her head as she cried even more.  After a while we both passed out.             I awakened to that morning to giggling.  I opened my eyes to see Rachel laying there laughing.  I realized I was drooling and jumped up off the floor making her laugh even harder.  I looked at her as I quickly wiped my face.  “Was I snoring?” I asked as she nodded her head.  “Sorry.”  I said looking at the girls.  They were trying too hard to be asleep.  I ran and dived in the bed with them tickling them as we all fell out laughing again.             We checked out then went to breakfast.  After breakfast we went to the mall to do some shopping.  “Cam., can I get my ears pierced?”  Tasha asked as we walked past the piercing booth.  “Why?”  “I’ve always wanted them pierced.  Plus, they have theirs pierced and I don’t.”  We looked at Kelis and Maryah as they watched us.  “I’m older than them.  I should have mine pierced too.”  I looked at Rachel as she pretended not to watch us.  “It’s part of me being a woman.”  “Go, hurry up and get in there.”  I looked at Rachel as she laughed.  “Rachel can I get a tattoo?”  Kelis asked making her choke to stop laughing.  “Girl, please!  I am not taking that ass whooping for you.  We’ll be over there looking at shoes.”  She said leading them away from the booth.  “You need some money?”  I asked stopping her in her tracks.  She looked at me in disbelief.  “Hell no, I got my own money.  You are not the only one who can ball out.”  I smiled at her as I watched her walk away.              A few hours later we were heading back to Saint Petersburg.  The girls were in the back watching a movie while I drove and watched Rachel out the corner of my eye.  She sat there sadly staring out the window lost in her thoughts.  “Are you okay?” I finally asked making her look at me.  She smiled as she nodded her head. I couldn’t help but feel ten feet tall.  She didn’t look at me the way she did before.  This time it was different.  It was as if she liked me.  I decided to take a chance at my luck. “What are you thinking about?”  She looked at me again.  “What are you thinking about?”  She asked as the girls laughed again at the movie.  “You.”  I answered.  She stared at me a moment.  “What about me?”  “I haven’t heard you laugh in a while.  I miss it.”  I watched her melt for a moment as she looked out the window again drifting back in her thoughts.  I smiled at her.  “Tell me what you’re thinking about.”  She looked back at me again.  “I’m thinking about the fact I’m leaving Disney World and my sons are dead and never got to see Disney World.” Whoa, I thought as she looked back out the window.  I had no idea what to say to that.  I looked at her for a moment analyzing her depression.  I had no idea how she was feeling other than sad.  “How old were they?”  I asked testing out my luck.  “They were five when they died.”  She didn’t attempt to look at me.  She just sat there staring out the window.  “Why didn’t you take them?”  She looked at me.  “Look, thank you for all of your support and everything, but if you don’t mind, I really don’t feel like talking.”  I nodded my head.  “Well, whenever you are ready to talk, I’m here.”  “Thanks.”  She said looking back out the window.  “Mommy?”  Maryah called.  “Yes Babe?”  “I love you.”  I smiled at Rachel as she turned and faced her.  “I love you too Babe.”  She leaned into the backseat and kissed her.  “I want kisses too!”  Kelis whined making us laugh.  She kissed her also.  “Me too!”  Tasha put in making me smile.  She kissed Tasha as they laughed.  I watched her turn around and buckle back up.  I glanced in the mirror at Maryah who was sitting there watching Rachel.  When she saw Rachel was okay, she went back to watching the movie.     Melina I was wondering the mall with Helena.  We were having a blast.  We were buying clothes and some accessories for our first official date tonight.  We had just gotten our hair and nails done and were getting ready to leave when I began to crave a smoothie.  We were sitting in the food court enjoying each other’s company while I drank my smoothie, and she drank her milkshake.  “Hey Baby.”  I turned around to see Thaddeus standing behind me.  He leaned down and kissed my forehead and then looked at Helena.  “Hello.” He said to her before looking back at me.  “What are you buying now?”  He asked me smiling down at me.  “I bought an outfit for tonight.  I’m going out with Helena tonight.”  He nodded his head as he glanced at Helena who was staring at him annoyed.  “Oh okay.  I have some business to handle and then I’ll be home to get Malik.  I just wanted to say hey before I left.”  He kissed me again, then waved to Helena and hurried away.  I watched him walk over to Jeremy and Markus who were clowning around while they exited the mall.  They spoke for a minute before the three of them walked out the mall together.  I returned my attention to Helena who was studying me as she sipped her milkshake.  “What?”  I asked making her smile.  “Just enjoying the view.”  I smiled at her.  “I need to f**k you.” I said standing up.  I grabbed my bags and she grabbed hers and we hurried out the mall and into my car.                            Markus             I was standing outside Jeremy’s car listening to him and Thaddeus coordinate some business when I spotted Melina and a woman shoving bags into their car.   Did they just rob the place?  I thought watching the woman shove Melina in the backseat.  Maybe not, I thought watching her slide in after Melina and slam the door shut.              “Alright so I will meet your there.”  Thaddeus said getting in his car and driving off.  I looked at Jeremy as he looked at me.  “What’s wrong with you?”  He asked.  “Is Melina gay?”  I asked watching the car rock.  He followed my glance to the car.  “Are you serious?”  He asked looking at me in disbelief.  I nodded my head.  “That clueless ass fool.”  Jeremy mumbled walking over to the car.  I followed. We stopped outside the backdoor where the woman was laying across the back seat under Melina who was sitting on her face rocking against her.  She panted for air as her breast bounced all over the car.  That is so f*****g sexy I thought opening the door shocking all three of them.  I needed to release some s****l energy, and this was just the opportunity I needed.             “What the hell?”  The woman exclaimed shoving Melina towards me as I slid inside pulling down my shorts to reveal how ready I was.  Melina looked at me and thought about it while the other woman yelled for me to get out.  Before anyone else could do anything, I grabbed Melina by the hips and pulled her on top of my erection.  She couldn’t do anything but lay against me with her back in my chest and her head resting on my shoulder with her face in my neck.  “You feel so good!”  She panted in my neck working her hips against mine.  All I could do was remember my night with Rachel.  Instead of me f*****g Melina I was finally f*****g Rachel again.  I held her by her breast pounding the sound out of her.  She began squeezing my thighs which made me pound her harder and harder.  I glanced to my right at Jeremy who was making the other woman cry out for mercy.  I returned my attention to Melina who was trying to shove one of my hands into her soaked lips.  I felt someone slap my hand.  Everyone’s attention went to the woman.  She stared at me angrily.  “You don’t touch her there.”  She growled.  I looked at Melina as she laughed.  “Touch me baby.”  She begged the woman as she began throwing her hips at me again.  I watched the woman rub over her soaked lips driving Melina crazy.  I increased my speed holding her hips in place.  She gripped me and screamed out in pleasure until I couldn’t hold back anymore.  I pulled out and exploded against her thighs and she flooded my lap with her juices.  We sat there a moment catching my breath before she finally looked back at me.  “What was your name again?” I couldn’t help but laugh at her.  “Really, Lena?”  “I know you’re one of Kenny’s boys.”  “Markus.”  “Nice to officially meet you Markus.”  “Yep, you too.”  I slid out the car pulling my pants up.  “You don’t have to leave yet.”  I smiled at Melina.  “Bye.”  I said closing the door.  I walked back to Jeremy’s car and sat on the hood.  About ten minutes later Jeremy appeared.  He looked at me as I looked at him.  We both laughed.  “You are wild man.”  We both got in the car and drove off.
