The invite

I was clearing the dishes when aunt Lucy called me from behind which made me drop the plate on the floor out of fright, yes madam what can i do for you i asked. I stopped calling her aunt a long time ago cause she said i was a bad omen and would bring ill luck to her if i call her my aunt. 

Mom what happened bailey rushed into the kitchen with Mrs Jennifer behind her before my aunt could respond. Its nothing my aunt said In a hurry when she saw,Mrs Jennifer in the kitchen, it was just a broken plate it fell accidentally she said  don't worry the made will clean it up she said whiles trying to take her out of the kitchen.

 Hi aunt jenny i greeted  she turned to look at me in confusing then her eye widened in  shock and lastly joy.  She rushed forward giving me a warm hug, oh my dear it's been years since i last saw you, you are all grown up how are you dear. I saw my aunt giving me a what are you doing look, ignoring her i smiled at aunt jenny pulling out of her hug i am doing fine and you look more beautiful i said earning me a wild grin from her.

I need to tell Anthony you are back from your trip she said whiles pulling me to the living room. Aunt Lucy gave me a warning look when i passed by her, i smirked lightly.

Anthony darling look who i found, she said to her husband pulling me to sit beside her. Its been a while uncle Anthony i smiled what pleasant surprise indeed dear how have you been he,asked am great uncle you seem to be getting more handsome since i last saw you i joked. You are still as humorous as ever he said,i smile lightly and by the way this is Matt my son he just returned to the country. 

I gave him a nod in greeting i have heard about you a lot from my mom since i returned its nice to meet you in person. Its my pleasure knowing you Matt i said curtly. I could see Bailey face contorting with jealousy as i spoke to Matt, which made me smile.

Oh meralda when did you return from your trip uncle Anthony asked, i furrowed my brow in confusion trip?  When did i go on a trip i asked. Huh aunt jenny looked at Lucy who was panic stricken, she traveled and came back a month ago to visit her families grave isn't it right meralda, aunt Lucy said my parents name intentionally to keep my mouth shut knowing that was an untouchable subject. 

Yes i just returned i said despite furious within, oh i see he said awkwardly when my parents were mentioned. Aunt jenny your visit today,is there a special reason o asked to elevate the awkwardness. Yes dear i came invite you all for my birthday banquet, Really its your birthday soon i faked a surprised look yes she said grinning at me. I would love for you to attend the party as well my dear she said holding my hand in hers, looking at me in anticipation. My aunt Lucy mouthed reject it  while  glaring at me,which was clearly seen by uncle Anthony. 

Well if you look at me with that gaze there is no way i can say no i said grinning at her, that's great news dear. 

I was literally glued to aunt jenny who refused to let go of my hand, Bailey and aunt Lucy were glaring dagger at  from the side which i ignored chatting happily with both of them.
