Being ignored

I reached London at 5 P.M

London is five hours ahead of New York. So it must be 12 noon in NY.

I called Rean.

"Hey"

"I reached London Rean."

"Good."

"Thea will stay with you until I return."

"Yeah.",he replied.

"What happened? Why are you answering in one word?"

"Nothing like that. I'm in office."

"Okay. Bye.",I said exiting the airport.

"Take care. Bye."

Rean was acting weird. Why? Maybe he's missing me.

I was looking out for a taxi, when I heard a voice from behind.

"Hey. Lia."

I turned to see Nic approaching towards me.

I remembered that incident that had happened in the party. The way he had proposed and kissed me infront of all and how I slapped him right away.

"Hi.", I replied faking a smile.

"You in London? To visit your parents?"

"Yeah. Somewhat like that.", I said looking at him. He was in his formals.

"Cool. How's Rean? Where's he?",he asked looking behind me.

"He's doing good. He's not here."

"Oh."

"What are you doing in the airport?",I asked.

"To stalk you like a psycho ex.", he laughed.

I just blinked.

"Hahaha. Kidding. I was here to drop my clients."

"Oh."

"Shall I drop you?",he asked.

"Thanks. I will book a taxi."

"Oh. Come on Lia. I know that I was crazy what I had done a few years back in the party. Now you're married and happy. I don't look at you like that anymore. I'm seeing someone recently. So chill."

He bought his car. He took trolly from my hand and loaded it to car.

I was just standing still.

He opened the door for me.

I sat with no other option.

He started driving the car. I thought I should have called my parents to pick me up. I was feeling kind of uncomfortable.

We passed our school.

"Remember school?",he asked looking at me.

"Ofcourse. I do."

"It was the best time.",he said lowering his voice.

I didn't reply back. Maybe he somehow got to know that I was not interested in talking. The drive was completely silent afterwards.

We reached my home. I asked him to come inside. He refused and drived off.

I knocked the door. Mum opened.

"Lia. Baby.",she hugged me.

"What a suprise!"

I smiled."I missed you and dad so much."

"Come in."

"You should have informed me that you were coming. I would have come to pick you up from the airport."

"Nic dropped me mom.",I said getting inside.

"Who's there?", Dad said climbing down the stairs.

"Lia!"

I hugged him. He patted my back.

"How are you? How is Rean?"

"We both are fine dad."

"Where is Rean? He didn't come with you?"

"He had some important work."

"Oh."

I freshened up and had pancakes cooked by mum. It's raining here.

I was tired and slept off.

I suddenly woke up not finding Rean next to me. God I miss him so much. Does he miss me?

I checked my phone. There was no text from him. I sighed.

I texted him,"Are you asleep?"

I waited for a minute for his reply.

I slept back.

"Lia!",mum was calling me.

"Wake up honey. It's time for the breakfast."

I rubbed my eyes and stretched out my legs and hands.

I checked my phone. No message. Huh. Why's he not replying? He might be sleeping. I'm overthinking.

I took a shower and I was having my breakfast. He hasn't even liked my recent i********: post.

Someone knocked the door. It was Nic.

"Hey. Good morning."

"Morning. What are you doing here Nic?"

"Since you're back here. Alec, Gwen and I planned a reunion today."

"Today?"

"Yeah. You're free right?",he asked twisting his eyebrows.

Oh damn. I didn't invite him in.

"Come in. Nic."

"No. Lia. I just wanted to inform you. I need to go to office. Will you come then?"

"Where and when?"

"Gwen's house evening at 5P.M."

"Okay."

"See you soon", he left.

"Mom, where's dad?", I asked.

"He went to office early today. Why honey?"

"Just asked." I need to get that work done soon somehow.

Mum also left to work.

I dialed Rean. He didn't lift my call. What the hell! What has happened? I started panicking.

I called Thea.

"Hello Lissy."

"Hey Thea. Where's Rean?"

"He just left to office. Why?"

"Uh. He wasn't lifting my call. I was worried."

"Anyway. Take care.", I said and ended the call.

I was ready by 4 30 P.M. I wore parallel denim pants paired with a white tank top and a denim coat. I left my hair open with loose curls.

I went to her home by a taxi.

"Lia!",she hugged me.

I smiled."I missed you so much."

"How's my gentleman?"

"Gentleman?"

"Your husband dude."

I laughed."Your gentleman is fine."

She also joined in laughing.

She showed her hand.

I exclaimed,"Aww. You're engaged!"

She jumped.

"I'm so happy for you.", I held her hands.

"Who's the lucky man?"

"You haven't seen him. He's out of town right now."

"Ohh. I will see when he returns."

"Yeah. How many days are you staying here?"

"I will leave tomorrow. I guess."

"What!"

Alec and Nic too came. We recalled our childhood days. We laughed. It was fun.

Later, Nic came to drop me home.

"It was really a great reunion Nic. Thanks.",I said.

"No thanks. Good that you enjoyed.", he smiled.

"When are you going back?"

"Tomorrow. I guess.",I replied.

"I will miss you then.",he said unlocking the door of the car.

"Yep. Me too.", I smiled and opened the car's door.

"Take care.", he said trying to smile casually.

"You too.",I said with a broad smile.

I closed the door and looked at the house. There was someone standing infront of the door.

The car moved away and I saw Rean.
