Lecture, Warning, Punishment

Evander was sitting on his old antic chair by his oke-made desk, facing the window. Its curtains were pooled back, displaying the night sky and its crescent moon. The desk was grand and beautiful, with carved detailing of weird-looking creatures with sharp teeth. A fire raged along the far side of the room. He was smoking a cigar that dangled off his long fingers. He did not face me when I walked in, just watched a couple of headlights driving away from the palace. That must have been the Turan pack living in their cars. Along with the jewel. I frowned at the thought. I'll have to figure out a way to get it later. Maybe father will have a plan. I strolled further into the room. "I see the Lycans have left without a scratch," I fell onto the loveseat. My arms and legs hanging off the couch. "A pity." He puffed out a cloud of smoke, "Let's thank any god out there that they did." He flicked off some ash from his cigar, "I would not want the Council coming unannounced to my doorsteps." Rolling my eyes at him, I said, "You worry too much." The Council would not trouble with such a little scratch, but I did not bother voicing that. "I think it went rather well tonight." He glanced over his shoulder, "Do you even know what you've done today?" I thought for a sec, "Ate some delicious cow and made a little girl laugh?" I knew what he was referring to, but if I had responded the way he wanted to, then it would have been less entertaining. He stood up from the chair, threw the still lit cigar onto the ashtray, and glared at me. He walked around the desk, "I do not expect much of you, Mila." He said as he sat at the edge of his desk with his hands gripping the border. "But to disrespect me, challenge the Alpha, and show up under bloodlust in front of everyone?" his knuckles turned white with tension. "Which part was when Lycans got scratched?" "I," he intensified, "am not playing, Mila." "And neither am I, Evander. Really, I don't think anything went wrong with the gathering." I grabbed the small statue that stood at the center of the table that sat between him and the sofa. The figure was of an angel, her arms out and palms up toward the heavens. She had her head down and her eyes closed as if she was sad and tired. "I don't care what you think." "I'm sorry to hear that." He narrowed his eyes, lips tight. See, just like Elena. So easy to anger. The only difference being Elena hides her emotions better. The side of my lip lifted slightly, "Did you know that the Alpha would be bringing the girl?" He blinked, "Sandra Black?" I rolled my eyes again, "No, Sandy Black--Yes! Of course, I mean Sandra. You could hardly miss her." "What about her?" he was growing impatient. I fidgeted with the angel statue in my hands, still lying on the sofa, "She is human and you let her walk into our home?" I gave him a hard look, "The home of people who feed on humans." "I did not bring you in here to talk about whether I should have or have not let the Alpha's daughter walk into my home," he said with a stern look. "What were you thinking when you showed up with red eyes? Did you not think they knew what that meant?" "Oh, I am aware they know what it means," I said tracing my finger over the wings of the angel. "And yet you still went with bloodlust," he shook his head with disapproval. I did not care if he disagreed with what I did. In the end, I was able to spot the jewel quicker than I expected, though I'm sure being under bloodlust did not have anything to do with that. He pushed off the desk and stood close to the coffee table between us, his stare fierce, "I let you get away with a lot of things, Mila. But I specifically told everyone how important tonight would be and yet you still disobeyed. Flourished as if it was a game to you!" his voice bounced off the walls of the office, making him louder. "Not only did you contradict what I said, but made a fool out of me and my clan!" I rolled my head back onto the sofa arm, getting annoyed with Evander's words and the importance of the clan, "Don't be dramatic. It is just a gathering." "Gathering or not, you embarrassed the clan," he stood where he was, his body becoming tense. With my eyes on the mural displayed on the ceiling, I sighed. "I'm sorry," I apologized, though it did not sound genuine. "I don't think you're grasping the situation." "And I don't think you understand what is most important to me," I glared at him. He was about to say something when he paused. "And what, exactly, is so important to you, Mila?" he crossed his arms over his chest. He was offering me to defend my cause, something he never offered. I sat up, one leg off the sofa and the other underneath my thigh. I still had the black lace dress on, the slit now showing even more skin than before. Evander's eyes averted from mine for a second to my thigh before making eye contact again. I looked at him and said, "Not what you are thinking about now." He scuffed, "If I thought you wanted to--" "They have it," I interrupted boldly before he could finish. He gave me a confused look, "Have what?" "The jewel, Evander!" I proclaimed, "They have the jewel." He stared at me with astonishment, a look that made me think he would see a reason for my behavior. If he understood the importance of that jewel being brought back to me then he could help guide things in my favor. Unfortunately, the universe had the tendency to never make things easy for me. Evander closed his eyes, his body growing still. His voice was a deadly storm on the brink of becoming a hurricane, "You mean to tell me, that all of this, was due to that stupid stone you have been searching for?" I sat forward a bit, hoping that he would grasp what I was saying, "That I have been searching for years! And now it has been here, in our home!" The jewel was anything but stupid. It was made under dark magic by a witch of great power. A sorcerer. A witch that was now dead. Evander knew that I have been fixated on retrieving it, but he never exactly saw eye to eye with my actions. For that reason, I never intended to explain to him what father had explained to me, but maybe it would help persuade him. "Evander, the Turan Pack has it in their hands. And they must know I want it if they were to show up with it here." "Why would a pack of Lycans think to bother with the likes of you, Mila. This ridiculous fantasy you have over this stone is preposterous." "They know of my name, Evander." I intensified, faithful that our brilliant master would comprehend what I was intending, "That must mean they know how much I want it. I have killed thousands to get to it and to place it around the girl's neck could mean they intended for me to attack." "ENOUGH!" Evander yelled, making me jump. He stopped around the table and snatched the angel out of my hands. "You, will not lay a single hand on that child or any of the pack for that matter! Do you understand?" he raged at my face. The room stayed silent for a moment, so silent that you could hear the sound of the trees rustling just outside the window. I was never one to get tempered, but knowing that Evander would most likely never see reason got me a little upset. Making me say something that I would regret. I pouted and sarchastacly said, "Oh dear, I believe your toothbrush has aged." Suddenly his hands are around my neck, I felt my eyes go wide with shock. His hand tightened, leaving me to gasp for a breath. Pushing me down on the sofa, he dropped the stachu on the rug. "You think this is a joke? Honestly, Mila, you forget your place," he spat at my face. !Disclaimer! Readers be worn of violent and abusive scenes ahead. If you would like to skip it, Mila will give a brief summary of the importance in the next chapter. He would never dare to inflict pain. With all the time he could have done so, he never did. And for that, I called him bluffing. Grabbing his arm, I used my inhuman strength to push him off me. Caught by surprise, his back legs hit the edge of the coffee table, causing him to stumble. I took that chance to quickly grab the angel off the floor and went to get him across the head. But before it could bash his head in, he snatched my arm, twisting it until I heard a snap. White pain shot threw my arm and I struggled to pull my arm back, but he swiftly threw me across the room and into the wooden table that centered the office. The surface was glass, and it crumbled under my weight, forcing several pieces to cut into my skin. I went to get up but was not fast enough, because once I stood on two legs, Evander was there again, slamming me down. His knee on my stomach put more and more pressure until breathing became a problem. I reached out with my good arm and scratched at his face with long nails. He snarled. Four red bleeding scratches across his cheek. His knee went loos and I went to move it off me when he grabbed me by the head with one big hand and bashed it onto the hard wooden floor with such strength that I saw stairs. Blood quickly pooled around my head, and he let go. I blinked, trying to get the dizzy haze from my head. I saw him dip his finger into the blood. bringing it close to my eyes. "See this? That's blood, your blood. Sweet, red, fresh, and warm." He explained, "Let it be a reminder to keep your mouth shut." I groaned and felt him stand, leaving me on the floor. I took this time to recover, but with a broken arm and now bleeding head, it was a struggle. And as I struggle to push myself up, Evander came back. I had made it to my hands and knees when I felt the stab of something pierce through my exposed thigh. A scream escaped from deep inside me. It was so loud that I'm sure others must have heard it, but if they did, they would never dare to break into Evander's office and save me. I fell onto my stomach, my head back on the pool of blood. Looking down my leg, I saw it was the stachu I had been playing with earlier, its wings and head deep under the back of my thigh. He kneeled next to me, my cheek resting on my blood. His face came into my line of vision. "Now that I have your undivided attention. The Council does not want any more difficulties concerning Lycans. And it is up to the Masters," he softly placed his hand on the back of my thigh near the stachu. "to make sure each member of every clan understands and cooperates." I made eye contact with him, feeling the need to run or fight but afraid to move. I felt like pray with the way he was looking at me like he saw me as a snack. "Do you comprehend what I'm saying?" he asked. I took a pained breath, "I--" I cried out as Evander grabbed the angel and twisted it further into my leg. I tried to drag myself away from him, but as he saw me attempting to push further away from him, he twisted more. "STOP! Stop," I begged, "PLEASE STOP!" He stopped but kept his hand on the stachu. His hand on it alone was painful enough. "This is your warning Mila," he said, his eyes filled with hunger and lust. "If you do not find a way to get that ridiculous jewel from out of your pretty little head," he grinned, "I will bind you to me." I swallowed, keeping my mouth shut. He smirked, "I will say it again. You, are to not cause any trouble with the Lycans. Do you comprehend what I am saying?" "Yes." He brought his face closer, a finger on his ear, "Yes, what?" A tear fell from my eyes as I said, "Yes, Master." He grinned, "Wonderful." Then ripped out the angel. I screamed again, fire now burning through my leg. Putting a hand down on the gaping hole to stop the bleeding, I winced. I thought it was over, that he would leave me alone. But when I looked over at him, I saw that he was still kneeling before me, his eyes on the blood that covered my leg. Probably admiring his work. As he continued to stare at my leg, he said, "Now that I got the warning down, time for your punishment." I stilled, "What?" Before I knew it, his teeth had sunken into the inside of my leg where the main artery was. I thrashed against him as I felt my life sors get drained. His hands were tight around my thigh, one pushing down on my hip to try and attempt to keep me still. I punched at his back, grabbing at his nice expensive shirt and ripping it in the process. His teeth persisted tearing and sucking more and more blood. I fought harder now realizing that I could die if he did not stop. But as the minutes ticked by and his hands left bruised skin, I felt myself get weaker. My punches got slower, my pushing and pulling becoming slugged works. Evidently, my fighting came to a stop. I felt dizzy and like death was close. I must have passed out for a second because he was now on the other side of the room. passing back and forth as if he was energized. He probably was, because when he turned to look at me, he stopped in his tracks, a smile playing on his lips. His eyes were red with my bloodlust. He had gotten it from me. That was my last thought before the world went dark.
