Mr Ludwig pocketed his phone and turned towards me.
“After Oliver has eaten, done his homework and put to bed, come see me in my room. We need to talk,” he ordered, eyeing me.
“I will.”
He turned away and headed upstairs to his room.
Oliver and I enjoyed the food.
“This is the best burger I have ever eaten,” he told me with a heartwarming smile. I patted his head.
After the meal, I helped him with his homework and then put him to bed once he had brushed his teeth.
“Tell me a story,” he asked, sleepily. So I sat beside him and began to narrate a story of a werewolf and a fox. Soon he drifted off. Kissing his forehead, I covered him with a blanket and turned on his starry night lamp. I left his room, closing the door slowly behind me.
