LEO’S POV:
I woke slowly as the sun blared through the window. My clothes were nowhere to be found, and Adria lying in my arms peacefully. She looked so beautiful in this light. I knew I would have to get up soon...but I really didn’t want to. Do they make sick days for King’s? Doubtful to say the least. I didn’t expect her to get on top of me the way she did last night. The last thing I remember before that...was a jump scare in the movie. One thing led to another...and that led us here.
She laid still as the sun grazed across her delicate, pale skin. She began to stir under the sheets as she woke up slowly. She hesitated to move, almost as if she were savoring this moment while it lasted as well. I rose my hand from her hip and touched her hair gently with it, pulling the few strands that lay against her fragile face back.
“Good morning, my love.” I smiled as I ran my hand along her jawline gently. “Did you sleep well?”
She turned slowly to face me and laid her head on my chest. “Perfect, thank you for asking.” She was always so formal, I couldn’t help myself but chuckle a little as I ran my fingers through her hair gently. “Last night was perfect.” She finished her thought as I noticed a small smile forming on her lips.
“It was amazing,” I said in a whisper as I kissed her head gently and held her close to me. “Then again...you are perfect.”
I watched as a light pink blush crept to her cheeks. “Oh, that’s odd. From what I remember, the only one who is so perfect is you.”
I smiled...but the smile soon faded as I heard a light knock on the door. I sighed as I still held her close to me, ensuring we were covered beneath the sheet. “Come in.”
She stayed still against my chest, though I did feel her tense up against me a tad. I rubbed her shoulders gently as the door creaked open and in came Kya, my cook. She smiled at us with knowing eyes. “Good morning, my King and Queen. Shall I have breakfast brought to your room?”
I laughed a little and nodded, desperate to make this moment last as long as possible. “Yes, please. That would be amazing.” I held on to Adria tightly as I spoke. “Could you bring it up, Kya? The fewer people that see us so...exposed, the better.”
She nodded in understanding. “Of course. However, as the King and Queen, you can not lay here forever. Lady Narcia and Lady Lillian will be here to retrieve the new Queen in two hours. Besides, you have work to do and meetings to attend as well, my King.”
Adria raised her head shyly with a confused look covering her face. “The Queen and wife to the royal beta...why would they be coming here for me?”
Kya laughed a little. “Forgive me, I didn’t mean to worry you. Since you are not of Lycansbane decent, and Primordial run things a little differently than we do, they are coming to take you out for a while. To show you the ropes of being Queen here. To be honest, they will probably take you shopping as well. Pretty much just a girl’s day.”
Adria looked a little nervous as she rested her head against my chest not saying anything else. I smiled playing with her hair. “Don’t worry about it, dear. You should worry for my sanity, though.”
She chuckled a little and looked up at me. “Oh, and why should I worry about you?”
“Well, since Mom and Aunt Lillian are going with you, I can only assume Dad and Uncle Nolan will be here harassing me all day.”
She laughed and nudged me. “Awe. Poor you, sitting here at the house with family.”
I nodded. “Exactly. I knew you would understand.” I laughed as I tickled her gently.
Kya walked in with our plates quickly. She laid them down on the table next to the bed. “I know you aren’t in bed right now. More so on a dismantled sheet fort in the floor, but it would do you some good to get up and grab your food.” She laughed as she walked out.
As she shut the door behind her, I threw a pillow in her direction listening to her laugh as she walked down the hall. I laughed and rolled my eyes. “Come on, baby girl. Let’s eat something. After last night, I think we could use some energy.”
She sighed and worked on standing up slowly. “If I must. I wouldn’t want to keep my dear mother-in-law waiting.” She smiled as she grabbed her light pink, silk robe from on the bed and slid it on quickly.
I laughed as I stood as well, grabbing a pair of boxers from the dresser to put on quickly. “Yeah, she will not hesitate to come up here and drag you out as is.”
She laughed a little as she sat down with her plate. “Oh no, we wouldn’t want that.”
I sat down next to her and began to eat my eggs and toast as well. We ate quickly in silence and I sighed as I sat my plate down. “Well, I should start getting dressed for the day I suppose.”
She looked up at me as she set her plate down as well. “What a shame. I don’t want this to end.”
I smiled and kissed her softly. “Hey now, it isn’t ending. This is only the beginning. We can have nights like that every single night for the rest of our lives.”
Her eyes lit up as I spoke. She nodded quickly. “Fine. I will let you go just this once though.” She stood up and kissed me again. Her soft, gentle lips against mine.
“Get dressed, baby. I will see you in a few hours okay.” I smiled and pushed her hair from her sweet eyes. “It sucks to get back to reality.”
