In the eyes of a child

CHAPTER EIGHT - IN THE EYES OF CHILD

Her mother used to comb her hair everynight, she slowly brushes her smooth hair up and down as she stared on the mirror infront, ''Mommy are you okay?''. The mother put down the comb gently on the table and replied with a smile, ''Yes my darling''.

''Are those made my daddy?'' She asked again while pouting her lips. ''This isnt your dad's fault my darling. You should go to sleep now'' She seriously said, tuckered her to bed, kisses her forehead and whispered on a sweet tone, ''I love you my darling. Goodnight'' which made her daughter into joy and uttered the same, '' I love you too Mommy...Goodnight''.

Her mother closed the door then she slowly fell asleep, however she woke up after a few hours when she heard the loud noises beneath her room. Out curiosity she went off to bed and quietly stepped on the floor until she reaches the stairs. The sounds became stronger as she gently walked down towards the kitchen, thus made her realized that it was groan and scream.

The frightening noise causes her body to trembled in fear but she still had courage left so she glance on the scene. Where a loud bang stroke into her ears causing her to cover it while her eyes are wide open; She saw her father shot her mother to death. Her blood gushes out from her head yet her father didnt stop, he bluntly shot her again with his desperate face.

She was shocked and scared at that point causing her to run outside to leave the house. She was running for her life cluelessly and couldnt think further therefore as little child she cried in vain.

SIX YEARS LATER

A lot of things happen in that span, Talitha is now sixteen yearsold and on her way to prison to visit her father for the first time. She sit beside the window of the bus to see the green scenery that made her think.

I didnt know jail can be so far away from town. It's great to this: The trees, the plants, the flowers made my heart at ease, Talitha maintain her calmness as she arrived.

In between them theres a parloir or commonly known as visiting room. A two of them just look into the eyes of each other without talking but after a second, Talitha started the conversation with coldness in her expression.

''Do I look like my mother?'' She hold the telephone tightly as her father replied, ''When you walked into the door. I already knew you're my daughter. How have you been?''. He indirectly answered my question, he doesnt want to talk about my mother---making Talitha a little bit agitated in that scenario.

''I'm actually good than before and better without you'' She responded rudely like he isnt her father but her dad didnt really mind it because he understand what's going through her, ''Talitha you've grown beautifully. I'm very thankful that you are blossoming''.

''Using such words to flatter me wont do anything but anyways I came here to tell you're finally free'' She uttered a sardomic frown. ''You should go now'' Her dad took a deep breathe and hang up the phone without saying goodbye to his daughter whom felt nothing but irritation, ''This is the first and last time I'm going to be here. See you in hell dad!'' She mouthed as she stood up from her sit.

After that Talitha went outside the prison to go home but stays on the same spot, infront of the road---regretting what she spouted to her father. He isn't like that before and I'm unlike his child; People do really change, She realized.

Meanwhile, A oncoming vehicle drove by a man who was sipping his bubble tea and one hand on the steering wheel approaches the lane. He then suddenly saw a WOLF out of nowhere causing him to swerved to avoid it, striking the left car who was drove by a 19-year-old woman.

Unable to stop before rear ending; This caused the car to crash into the back of another vehicle. The forces of impact pushes the car and vehicle to collide with the bus which was parked ten meters away infront of Talitha and the few people around her.

The three vehicles slammed into each other as it abruptly decelerates. The chain reaction turned into “pileups” due to the collision forces between the four of them made everyone shocked because of the unexpected happenings.

People inside the vehicles were injured, the woman twisted her spine and pushed out a alignment, some of the family members were fractured and suffered from a rib injury while people on the bus got wounded and scratched.

Police including the medics of the prison and good samaritans help the people to get out in their vehicle. Talitha saw blood everywhere, gushing down the parts of everybody as she just stood there doing nothing.

This scene made Talitha remember how her father killed her mother in a way she wouldn't forget, blood on the floor, her mom's groans and how the way she look at her made really anxious.

''Mind control'' Rhyme suddenly said coming out from nowhere beside Talitha whom crossed her arm, ''I can't control you. Do you know the reason?''. ''I got this baby'' Rhyme held the hilt of his sword and smirked. Flynn was controlled by her while they are watching her far away.

''Whatever'' Talitha walked away as he followed her. ''I don't have bussiness with you'' She uttered next to him whose walking on the same path she is going. ''You're a fraud. You pretended to be a teenager when you're only eleven yearsold'' He look at her blankly as she did. They have the same expression but they have one indifference: her eyes say it all. She is confused on who Rhyme is.

''Why don't you saved them?'' She points to the people who was involved in the accident. ''Why did you killed the woman in the hospital?'' Rhyme asked back referring to the murklin lizard whom he saved before. Eurydice called him; only to find out that the woman is dead and was murdered by a child.

''So you're the one whose spying on the hospital'' She stopped walking thus Rhyme did too, ''It was not me but I knew her''. Talitha then bravely stepped forward onto her position as she mumbled, ''Let's play archery'' which Rhyme nodded in responded by means of those three words.

Talitha leaded the way to the abandoned building where she used to trained herself, ''This is my secret hide out...I cant used a g*n but I can replaced it with a bow''. Rhyme paused per a second when she said that but an idea crosses his mind; utterly saying, ''A deal. If I win you will answer my questions and follow my demands but if I dont I will leave you for good''.

''And give what I want'' She continued as they prepared everything needed. Archery is not a sport that you should start on your own but for Talitha and Rhyme, they are used to it.

They began to determine their dominant eye, pick a bow that matches them and choose an arrow based on their draw length while wearing their protective gears which are the arm-guard, plastic chest protector and finger tap. Talitha insisted Rhyme to begin, she was confident in herself despite being a kid and has less experience in archery.

 Rhyme start off the deal by lining his body up the perpendicular to the target.

He had already mastered the fundamentals of archery a long time ago and has practice multiple times with his father. Rhyme stand upright and place his feet shoulder width-apart and point his bow down, attach an arrow to the string, use three of his fingers to lightly hold the arrow as he points his bow to the target.

And pulled it's drawstring back toward his face, aiming at the target, releasing the arrow by relaxing the fingers on his string hand. He breathe steadily then when he shoot, it was indeed a fascinating scenario that most of the time people can't see clearly because of the speed.

At his first shot Rhyme got a score of ten while Talitha did the same. They continued the game as it ended and Rhyme won with the score of perfect 10s four times in a row while Talitha scored eight, nine, nine and ten in a row. If that's how it's interpreted, I maybe learn some archery and already know the things connected to it, Eurydice thinking in her mind while watching them by her drones.

She has been there all the time thoroughly eating bag of chips and a soda to enjoy the game or rather the play.

''I just got annoyed because she was loud when she woke up so I controlled her to put her hands on her mouth but...I couldnt control properly so she strangled her neck instead'' She told the truth as Rhyme replied, ''You must be thinking a lot of things that's why you did not proceed on murdering your father''.

''Because I really can't! My mind said No but my heart said YES!'' She shouted. ''You've already answered my questions. Now I demand you to stop using your powers and avoid taking the pills'' Rhyme ended the topic so that the girl wont be mad anymore. ''I paid your grandmother's bill in the hospital'' He added giving his white handkerchief to the little girl.

''He didnt even say comforting words. Well atleast the handkerchief can help her cry later'' Eurydice entwined her arms together and a slightly wry smile.

On the other hand, The man who started the accident face charges of reckless driving and negligent driving resulting into multiple injuries. He told his excuses to the police that he saw a wolf on the road so he had to do it but they didn't believe him because the cctv's says it all.

There's no wolf or anything and speaking of wolf: Flynn was guilty because he was easily controlled by a murklin child and caused a huge accident so he help the people involved in it. After a long day, he was still stucked in the hospital paying the bills with Eurydice whose losing some fortune.
