Job Hunt

Jodie sat down quietly looking at the ceiling, she was sleepless, she couldn't even face her father after what happened, how would she even begin to explain to them that she doesn't deserve the results she got and there was utterly nothing she could do about it, after all she wasn't rich and influncial she doesn't have money, how would she sue a VC to court she would lose badly and still waste alot of cash. She turned to the other side of the room where dorcys bed was placed, she looked at her sleeping even if she doesn't say anything Jodie knows that she was very hurt and all she wants was to be in school. Jodie got up from the bed as she opened the door and went out to see her father on the sofa, his eyes were wide open staring at the fan, he sat down quietly without moving a muscle, she stood on the stairs watching him as soon she could see tear drop come out of his eyes, she knew he was going through much pain but what on earth could she do , she goes back up to her room and sat on the bed closing her eyes.

" Wake up, it's time for breakfast" Jodie heard dorcys voice say as she managed to get off the bed, she looked at dorcy and back at the clock this was already to eight, she knew if she kept sleeping late then she would never get a good job. During breakfast the table was quite, the knives and the forks were the only sounds one could hear not a single soul uttered a word.

" Thank you father" Jodie said getting up as she takes a plates to the kitchen, she hurriedly took her shower as she got into something nice and simple, she picked up her CV and dropped it , it's better to use her secondary school results to get the job it deserves than to use this stupid certificate to get a job she was better than. She put all her credentials in her bag and climbed down the stairs

" Are you going somewhere?" Dorcy asked as Jodie smiled

" Yea , I'll try looking for a job, where is dad?" She asked looking around

" As usual he went job hunting, he left some food in the pot for afternoon" dorcy said as Jodie smiled

" Take care and locks the doors. Don't allow anyone in unless dad and I comes back okay, and eat the food till you're satisfied" Jodie said as she hugged dorcy

" Alright, take care" she said as she follows her sister outside and locks the doors after her. Jodie sat down by the corner of the road, her legs were badly hurting, she could not even move, she has been searching for a job since morning and it's almost six yet everywhere she went either said they weren't accepting or that her CV was too low for the post.

" Where is your sister, It already ten" foster asked dorcy who yawned she was feeling so sleepy but her dad wouldn't let her sleep because Jodie hadn't returned back from job hunting, soon the door opened as she came in looking so tired, she looked at her father and suddenly she feels so much respect for him, taking care of a family isn't as easy as she thought it was

" Good evening dad" she finally greeted seating down on the chair as dorcy goes to get her some food

" It's so late, you're just twenty two, you shouldn't stay out this late, just leave the feedings to me, I'll save money for you to go to school again" foster said as Jodie's eyes teared up

" No dad, I'm not going to school again, I don't deserve it, I've failed you, please allow me to work to ease the burden" she said in tears

" You never failed me my child, I know that you're very intelligent and there must have been a mistake somewhere but even if you want to work please do something reasonable and safe" foster said hugging his daughter. Dorcy stood by the entrance with tears, it was always melodramatic in this house, people would cry everyday as she drops the food and joins the hug.

Jodie's alarm clock rang as she managed to get up from bed, jt was only five o clock and she had never woke up so early not even while she was going to school. She walked into the kitchen to find her dad washing the plates

" Good morning dad" she greeted still cleaning her eyes, foster stood surprised she was the last person he was expecting to see this early in the morning

" Why are you surprise" she asked noticing the way her father looked at her as be brought out a sweet smile

" Nothing, do you want to wash the dishes?" He asked as she shook her head, normally for a girl her age they would know how to cook and do all the chores but her case was very different, she doesn't know how to cook neither could she do any chore in the house. Foster was very happy to help his daughter learn how to wash and sweep, soon they were done as the both left house look for work.

" We are ready to pay you ten box to come here and serves food" the owner of a small dinning said as Jodie's eyes opened up though it was just ten thousand she was more than happy to accept the work offer.

" Of course, no problem" she said as they gave her some uniforms and she took her papers

" You will start working tomorrow, from 7 till 5" the owner Mr hansal said as she smiled, she got home to find her father and dorcy learning as she drops her bag she was going to surprise them all that she finally found a job

" Hey sis, they are looking for cleaners at dads new place of work are you interested?" Dorcy asked as Jodie puzzled out some works in her mind, she could do two jobs and earn more

" Yes very interested, dad good afternoon' she said as foster smiled, she went up the stairs to her room as she dropped her bag on the bed. It was evening as they all prayed and went to have a shut eye, Jodie was very excited her first work, she couldn't just wait till the next day breaks.
