DEREK RODRIGUEZ ALEXANDER

Was my mom's ex the only father figure I had ever had.

I had grown up without a father any guy my mom always dated always broke her heart either they wanted a part of her wealth, or they wanted to get into her pants some even broke up with her because she gave birth to me.

when i was six she met Derek she did not tell him she had me, so the first day Derek saw me she told him I was her Niece and Derek believed since then Derek saw me he always ended up taking me for Iced cream anytime mom sa him and me bonding she was happy but deep down she was scared that he would find out that she lied and leave her.

one day when I came back from school I was in mom's doing my assignment while mom was busy with some patients file my mom was the owner of the biggest pharmaceutical company in Queens city and she owned the biggest hospital too in the same city so we where very wealthy.

When mom's phone suddenly rang she didn't want to pick the call at first because she was so busy and during work ours she didn't like to be bothered.

But the phone continued ringing, without even looking at the callers name she picked up the call, what she said angrily at the person on the line, sensing her anger the person on the line said

Baby chill, hearing the voice I knew it was Derek because of my sharp hearing I decided to leave not wanting to hear what the adults wanted to discuss I mouthed to mom I was going sownstairs to get a drink.

30 minutes later I was dragged back into my mom's office by Andy the receptionist I have always liked getting into her nerves, mom looked at me then sighed so sorry Andy I don't know if she'll ever learn.

No need to apologise boss, instead I think Anna hear should apologise for disturbing my work Andy said looking at me with a knowing look never I said folding my arm like the child I was.

Apologise mom said looking at me that dared me to disobey her, damn I'm gonna get you next time Andy I said in my mind.

I'm sorry auntie Andy I said coquettishly already plotting my next move.

Apology accepted she said then left, but knew I wasn't going to let this go.

Are you done with your assignments mom asked when i took a seat on the couch.

No I'm not mom you know I like studying in a quiet place.

So the reception is quiet enough for you to study and tease Andy but not quiet enough for you to study exactly I muttered under my Breath what did you just say mom asked nothing I said quickly it better be nothing miss.
