Tristan didn't know why his rival had suddenly called to meet him. Was he challenging him for a duel? This was not the first time they were going to fight. They had battled a lot of times before, and the results were always inconclusive. They both were equally powerful!
His brother Thomas and Athena had warned him to not meet his rival alone, but Tristan couldn't help it. His claws had not seen bloodshed for so long! They were burning in the need of harming someone. That was what his inner demon always tells him to do.
It wouldn't let him live in peace! Tristan always desired more blood, s*x, and violence than other Vampires. That was his cure! He was cursed to be this monster! And the reason why he got this curse was because of his rival!
Tristan parked his car near the willow tree, in the empty abandoned land that was dark even though the full moon was shining in the sky above. Tristan understood that he was called to this place on purpose. It was moonlight and his rival was half-wolf. His powers must be great now. Still, Tristan didn't fear him. He lusted blood now, so even the Devil himself wouldn't be able to stop him from getting what he wanted.
His rival was in the form of his wolf now. He emerged slowly out of the bushes. At first, Tristan was only able to see his bright blue eyes. Since he was a hybrid, he wasn't larger like other werewolves, but he was more potent than others. That's why they had made him the leader of his coven.
Tristan didn't understand why Vampires would accept a half-wolf as their coven leader. It is a well-known fact that Vampires don't go well with these beasts. Tristan despised this beast more than anything. He wanted to strike him now and sink his sharp fangs on him and drain his blood.
"You don't have to scare me with your pity form, Conner…," Tristan hissed. "Show your true beautiful form to me…"
To his surprise, Conner obeyed him and he turned back into his original form. The savage beast was now a gorgeous young man with blonde hair and blue eyes. He was popular among ladies too like Tristan.
But Tristan didn't understand why women digged him. To his eyes, Conner looked feminine. He hated him so much that he refused to even see him as a man.
"After all these years, are you still scared of my wolf form?" Conner made a pity face. "You were wimpy back then and you will always be a wimpy kid—"
"Says someone who is not even a man," Tristan insulted him back. "Did you know that if you wear a dress you will get a lot of free drinks in a bar?!"
"Tristan!" Conner shouted furiously. "If anyone is not a man, then it's you. You don't even have the audacity to approach a woman decently. You abducted her like and God knows what you are doing to her now—"
Tristan was amazed at how soon the news spread about him in the underworld. And that's why he was hiding Ivy. If she ever roams freely in the streets again, then it wouldn't take five minutes for his rivals to track her and kill her. He almost shivered at that thought. He didn't want Ivy to end up like his past mates. He will do everything to protect her!
"Well, why do you even bother? You f*** ten girls every day, and did I ever ask about those girls—"
Conner's lips turned up in a smirk. "You don't have to act cool about it, Tristan. I know everything about her. She is Ivy Brown, 21 years old, Queen Bee, of New York City, and you abducted her the day next to her birthday…"
Tristan was shocked by the number of details he knew about him. So his rivals were always watching him closely.
"What do you want, Conner? Do you want to fight?! Come on! Let's get it done!"
"No, I am not here to fight. I want Ivy…"
Tristan got furious. "And why would you want her?
"Because she is… pretty…"
Tristan sensed that Conner was hiding something. He always knew if the people before him spoke the truth or not. And now Conner was lying through his teeth. He wondered why he was lying!
"Well, I don't want to give her up! So come on. Let's fight."
"Chill man, why are you so keen on fighting! Let us sort it out like adults. Will. You. Give. Me. Ivy. Or. Not."
"No!"
"Then it's time for me to leave now!" Conner immediately turned back to his beast form and he ran away from that spot.
'What the hell was that?' Tristan thought to himself.
Why would he show up and just leave?! This was not his usual behavior. Something didn't feel right! Tristan immediately got in his car and drove to his mansion as fast as he could.
When he got to his mansion, a huge surprise was waiting for him. All the servants were gathered in the hall and his brother Thomas and Athena were discussing something seriously.
"What the hell happened here?" Tristan yelled at them.
"Tristan," Athena said in her soothing voice and crossed the distance between her and Tristan. "We all were called out to speak by the members of the coven and when we came back here Ivy was missing."
"What?" Tristan growled. "Why would you all leave the mansion and leave Ivy alone?"
Then Tristan realized that he had exactly done the same thing. He too had left Ivy alone and went to meet Conner. So this was all a plan! The plan was to abduct Ivy! And he realized it now.
Tristan got extremely furious and he wanted to yell at his friends for falling into the same trap as him. But the fear that developed in his chest, took away all anger that he had in him. What if something happens to Ivy?! What if history repeats again?!
Tristan was speechless for a brief moment before he turned to his guards and yelled at them to bring out the CCTV footage of the mansion. The guards did what he said and showed him a blurry video on a tablet.
The video showed the entrance of the mansion in poor quality. Tristan wondered why the video wasn't clear. All the cameras in his house were of high quality. Then all of a sudden, the screen went blank which angered Tristan even more. He smashed the screen on the floor—resulting in the shattering of the expensive tablet.
"What the hell was that?" Tristan snarled at the two guards who were now trembling before him.
"We don't know…. Someone had tampered with our cameras," one of the guards replied.
Tristan let out a growl—that was like that of a furious predator. "I should have killed him when I had the chance today," he growled and tried to get out of the house.
But Athena came and stood before him—and blocked his way to exit. "Calm down, Tristan! Fast and Fury will never give glory—"
