Being the brave b***h I was, I thought asking him what he wanted from me could solve the issue, but I was damn wrong. I knew I wasn’t going to walk up to his apartment and invite him into my abode like some stupid horror movie victim… hell no. But when the opportunity came, I used it… unknowingly stepping straight into a nightmare.
It was a sunny afternoon. The heat was brutal, the kind that made the walls feel like they were sweating. My room was stuffy as hell, so I stepped outside to the balcony to catch fresh air.
Nepa, as they were popularly called, had been acting useless lately. Light barely stayed for long anymore, so I had been relying mostly on my solar panel to survive the heat.
I dragged my chair outside, wanting to sit and press my phone in peace, when suddenly—
A shadow crossed right in front of me.
Fast.
Too damn fast.
I froze instantly.
It was broad daylight. Afternoon. There was no reason I shouldn’t have seen whoever passed clearly, yet all I caught was a dark blur.
My heart skipped.
For a few seconds, I just stood there staring blankly, trying to convince myself I was overthinking s**t.
“Probably hallucinations,” I muttered under my breath.
You know how the brain plays tricks sometimes.
Still, the uneasy feeling refused to leave. It crawled slowly under my skin, making me feel like invisible eyes were locked on me from somewhere.
To distract myself, I buried my face in my phone. Since it was an off day and we had no lectures, there was literally nothing else to do.
But then—
As I lifted my head slightly to check if my door was properly closed against those annoying flies…
I saw him.
Jane.
Sitting silently on the railing.
Watching me.
Completely still.
His gaze fixed directly on mine.
Damn.
My soul almost left my body.
So this creep had been watching me the whole damn time?
For a second, anger replaced fear. I wanted to yell at him, ask what the hell his problem was, but then my plan came back to me.
Maybe if I confronted him directly, I’d finally understand what he wanted.
I immediately went back inside my room and arranged some “weapons” around the place just in case things went south.
And no, not guns or anything crazy.
Just baseball bats, kitchen knives, and a few sharp objects hidden where he wouldn’t easily notice them.
Stupid me actually thought they’d protect me if anything happened.
When I stepped back outside, he was gone from the spot he’d been sitting earlier.
My chest tightened.
Then I spotted him standing by the lodge railing instead.
“Wtf, man…” I muttered under my breath. “Bruhh, what do you want from me? You almost scared my freaking soul outta my body.”
That was when I decided to stop running from the weirdness.
He just stood there silently, staring.
Watching.
I slowly approached him, my hidden weapon tucked beneath my skirt just in case he tried anything stupid.
“I wanna ask you something,” I said, my voice softer than I intended.
For the first time, he actually looked surprised that I was the one approaching him.
Then he spoke.
“I thought you believed I was a creep.”
His voice was calm.
Cold.
“Why let me into your abode?”
“Because I wanna ask some vital questions.”
Without another word, he followed me.
And as he walked behind me, I noticed it—
That tiny grin spreading slowly across his face.
Like he knew something I didn’t.
I thought to myself, this i***t really thinks I came unprepared.
Once inside, I offered him a seat, just like the first time we met.
The atmosphere immediately felt wrong.
Heavy.
Too quiet.
Then I asked the question that had been haunting me for days.
“What do you want from me?”
The second those words left my mouth, his gaze darkened.
Then he replied.
“You.”
I blinked.
What the actual hell?
“Me??”
That answer sounded sick.
Weird.
Unsettling.
“Why do you want me?” I asked cautiously.
He sighed before speaking again.
“Ever since I laid my eyes on you… I loved you.”
Eww.
Gross.
I stared at him in disbelief.
“What the f**k did you just say?”
And in the same calm tone, he repeated it again.
This guy was seriously a freaking creep.
“We barely know each other,” I snapped immediately. “How the hell would you like me? Is that why you’ve been stalking me? You act like some damn psycho.”
Then suddenly—
He started moving closer.
Slowly.
My heart began pounding hard against my chest.
“What the f**k are you doing?”
Adrenaline kicked in instantly.
I rushed toward where I had hidden my weapons, ready to defend myself if things got ugly.
But before I could reach them—
He caught me.
Fast.
Too fast.
He grabbed me and forced me down before I could react properly.
“Get off me, you creep!” I snarled, struggling against him with everything I had.
I tried pushing him away.
Kicking.
Fighting.
Anything.
But panic had already started clouding my head.
“I’m gonna shout!” I threatened.
Yet the words died inside me.
Because one terrifying thought kept replaying in my mind—
I brought him here myself.
And I already knew how people loved blaming victims for things they didn’t understand.
That fear silenced me more than his grip ever could.
He leaned closer, staring down at me with an expression that made my stomach twist violently.
“I waited for this moment,” he whispered darkly. “You brought this on yourself.”
The moment those words left his mouth…
I knew something terrible was about to happen.
Oh dam!!..what have I done..
