It was always you

Chapter 12.

Sasha was woken up by movements on the bed, she opened her eyes to see Pedro getting up. Last night they ended up talking on the beach till 2 am, Ped told Sasha all about the woman he was seeing, even though it was wrong for him to be seeing a married woman, he couldn’t help himself, he knew he was going to break a marriage but he never felt that way with anyone else before. Sasha and him got into a small argument, she knows how it feels like being cheated on but ultimately Sasha understood how he felt. 

“Morning Ped, what time is it?” as she groaned, sun beaming through his window. “9.30 Sash, I’m on call, I need to leave in 5 mins. Continue sleeping” he stated, but she knew once she was up, she was unable to fall back asleep. Letting Pedro get ready, she took her phone to check on her messages.

She sighed at Raphael’s attempt to contact her, she decided to scroll the messages to the bottom and hit reply.

Sasha : Stop contacting me Raph. WE ARE OVER. DO NOT CALL ME. DO NOT TEXT ME. Don’t make me resort to having a restraining order against you Raph. I will if I have to. Have a nice life with Cassie. Please stop contacting me. 

Adonis : Agapi? 

Adonis : Agapi, what have you been doing today?

Adonis : I miss you xx 

Adonis : Is everything okay? I tried calling

Adonis : I’m a little worried. Hope you are fine. Xx 

Adonis : I’ve convinced myself that you have been kidn*pped. But since I saw you on Michela’s i********:, I’m guessing you are just having fun. :) Goodnight my sweet agapi. 

Sasha : Good morning Adonis. :) Sorry last night got a little carried away with the fam. Talk to you later. 

“Bye Sash, by the way, I’ve gotten your luggage out of Ma’s room, it’s over there now,” Pedro said while pointing to his closet, giving her a kiss as he left the room. She smiled and nodded. Sasha decided to hop into the showers since today would be the day that everyone goes to the beach, she would throw on the new bikini that she bought online, and a pair of ripped shorts with sandals. She decided not to put a shirt on since the beach is nearby. 

Sasha walked down, to see everyone sitting around the kitchen island, instantly she could smell bacon, everyone was too busy in their own conversations but Mateo and mami spotted her as she was walking down the stairs. Mami had the biggest grin, while Mateo looked confused by her presence. Sasha quickly rushed down, smacked Michela’s butt playfully, and kissed Mami on the cheek. 

“Morning mija” 

“Morning ma & good morning Mr. Parker”

“Good morning Sasha, remember we had this conversation before, call me Ted, you’ve been in my house so much, you practically live here, so you’re basically my child,” Mr. Parker said, and Sasha nodded. 

“Am I expecting more grandbabies?” Mami whispered to Sasha as she put bacon in her mouth, Sasha coughed and said “Ma! Nothing happened”, Mami giggled not believing her.

They arrived by the beach, everyone decided to lay in the sun, whilst mami and Ted took a walk along the beach enjoying each other’s company. Mateo laid beside Sasha while she plugged in her headphones listening to some music. After about 30 minutes of lazing in the sun, Michela and Gen decided to go for a swim, leaving Mateo and Sasha by themselves, from the corner of Sasha’s eyes she could see 2 girls walking in her direction, instantly she knew they were going to try to talk to Mateo, so she lowered her music, and closed her eyes, pretending to be asleep. 

“Hey. I’m Jessica” the blonde girl offered her hand, “and this is my friend Audrey”. Mateo sat up, and shook their hands, “Hey, I’m Mateo” said nonchalantly. 

“Are you from here?” Jessica asked. “Yeah” was his only response, Sasha could sense that Mateo was not interested. 

“Want to hang later?” Jessica asked, battling her eyelash while playing with her bikini string.

“Nope”, her face fell, but she kept flirting. “Why? Busy today baby? What about later after whatever you’re done doing” 

“Not interested”

“Come on, both of us want to hang with you. You can come up to our hotel”, Jessica persuaded, pushing her boobs together, while her friend Audrey played with Jessica’s bikini string in an attempt of flirting. 

Sasha decided to rescue Mateo, she opened her eyes and looked at those girls, she got up and kissed Mateo’s cheek, Jessica’s eyes widened, Sasha hardened her demeanor stared at the two girls and said: “Are you trying to f**k my husband?”. 

“No eew, you’re definitely not married to him, you’re fat” Jessica responded, Mateo, stiffened. Sasha ran her hands up and down his arm, smiled then climbed on Mateo to sit on his lap.

“Oh but I am, right baby?” Sasha kissed the corner of Mateo’s lips pretending. Mateo knew what Sasha is up to, he responded with a huge grin “Yes I’m happily married to this amazing, stunning, beautiful curvy woman” while staring into Sasha’s eyes pulling her closer to his body. Sasha couldn’t take her eyes off him but quickly reminded herself that Jessica and Audrey were still there. 

“You’re fat” she directed at Sasha, “come and find me later Mateo”.

“Oh go away b***h, don’t you get that he’s married. Go. Run along, there must be some salad you haven’t ate yet” 

Jessica turned and flipped Sasha the finger, as soon as they were far enough, Sasha and Mateo started laughing. Their laughter died down, Sasha realizing she was still on Mateo, she climbed off him and apologized “Sorry for ruining your chances with her”.

“Nah, it's fine. Not my type anyway. Got my eyes on someone” he smiled. 

“Bianca right?” he nodded in agreement, Sasha stared into Mateo’s eyes, her heart twinged in jealousy for some reason, causing her smile to drop just for a second, she quickly covered it up by looking away. 

The day went by, Sasha enjoyed her time with Mateo while everyone was busy on their own day on the beach. She soon forgot about her troubles, night came and Michela had dinner with her parents, Clay was still out with Monica, Pedro was still working, mami and Ted went away for a little trip. She was left with Mateo, and she decided to cook for herself and Mateo. Deciding to give her a hand, they both worked together in the kitchen while listening to some music and dancing around happily. That’s the one thing in the Parker household, there was always music on, it was always lively, it was everyone's home. 

“f**k” Mateo cursed, Sasha immediately stopped in her tracks and looked at Mateo with concern, she saw that he has cut his finger and it was bleeding all over the sliced cucumber, she rushed over and took a napkin to soak up the blood, while bringing him to the sink, letting him run his finger over the cold tap water. She quickly rushed to get the first aid kit, knowing where mami kept it.

“Come”, Sasha stood next to Mateo holding up the alcohol swab and bandaid. 

“This might sting a lot, grab my arm, squeeze it to distract yourself alright?” Mateo grabbed Sasha’s hip and squeezed it as Sasha rubbed an alcohol swabs on his injured finger, she immediately felt goosebumps the moment his fingers came in contact with her skin. She quickly wrapped the bandaid on his finger, noticing she grabbed the duck bandaid, she started giggling. 

Her giggles started to slow down when she realized that he was staring at her, realizing their close proximity and his hand was still on her hip, she just stared into his eyes. Just for a second, his eyes dropped to look at her lips, she did the same to him. 

Ding dong 

The sound of the doorbell broke them apart, Mateo snapped out of his thoughts and let go of Sasha, he walked towards the door to answer it. Sasha realized that she wanted to kiss him and she felt embarrassed. He probably was in pain and was trying to calm himself down, she thought. She immediately tried to shake what would have been an embarrassment for her, Mateo is interested in Bianca, and will never think of her that way. 

Mateo returned from answering the door, Sasha looked up pretending as if nothing happened. “Who was it?” she asked casually. 

“Mrs Wilkens, our neighbor, asking for ma”, she nodded, continued making their dinner while cleaning the bloodied mess on the chopping board. 

She didn’t know when or how, but the hard realization hit her that she started falling for Mateo.
