VERA WAS BLINDED BY all the light around her, and her stomach felt unsettled by the sensation of huge acceleration. The light faded about her as the feeling of vast velocity vanished. She looked around her and saw a panoramic scene of savanna all about her position, grasslands meeting clusters of trees as far as her eyes could see.
