Kael didn’t take me home.
Instead, he led me to an abandoned cabin on the edge of town. The forest pressed close around it, trees whispering in the wind. Inside, the air was cooler, calmer, safe—or at least, it should have felt safe.
But the moment the door closed, the heat of him hit me like a wall. My wolf surged violently, pressing against my ribs, whining, desperate.
“Kael… I can’t—” I stammer, backing up slightly.
He steps closer, silver-blue eyes blazing, aura thick and magnetic. “Shh,” he murmurs, voice low and rough. “You can. You just have to trust me. You’re stronger than you know.”
My chest heaves. My body aches, pulling instinctively toward him. My wolf whines in frustration and longing. Every nerve ending hums with the bond, with him.
“Your wolf… it’s impatient,” he murmurs, brushing a strand of hair from my face. His thumb grazes my cheek, sending shivers down my spine. “It wants to feel me. And so do you.”
I gasp, body leaning forward despite myself. “I… I don’t know if I can control it…”
Kael’s hand cups my jaw, tilting my face toward his. His thumb traces the curve of my lips. “Then don’t,” he whispers, voice hoarse. “Not yet. Let me teach you how it feels… how to channel it.”
My wolf surges, pressing, aching. My chest rises and falls rapidly. My lips part, wanting, needing.
Kael steps closer, hips brushing mine. Heat explodes between us, primal and urgent. “Elara…” His voice drops low, almost a growl. “Do you feel this? The bond? The pull?”
“Yes…” I breathe, trembling. My body presses against him involuntarily. My wolf whines, desperate, leaning into him.
He groans, fangs flashing. His hands slide down my waist, holding me firmly, possessively. “You’re mine,” he murmurs, voice rough. “Every part of you… every instinct… belongs to me.”
My knees threaten to buckle. My chest burns. My wolf surges violently, claws itching, muscles coiling.
He leans closer, lips brushing mine. My breath hitches. Heat coils through my body, need and desire swirling. I can’t stop the pull, the connection, the craving.
“Kael… I—” I gasp.
He silences me with a kiss—soft at first, testing, tasting. But the moment our lips touch, the fire ignites. My wolf howls silently, body leaning fully into him. My hands clutch his chest, needing the strength, the dominance, the warmth.
Kael groans, shifting slightly, brushing his fangs against my neck. The contact sends shivers down my spine. My chest tightens, my pulse racing. The bond reacts violently, red streaks flaring across my collarbone, warm and alive.
“Feel it,” he murmurs against my lips. “This bond… it’s ours. Don’t fight it. Let it teach you.”
I tremble, letting myself melt into him. My wolf howls in delight, pressing every instinct into him. My body hums with heat, tension, desire.
He pulls back slightly, just enough to look into my eyes. “Control comes later,” he says, voice low, hoarse. “Right now… you feel. You let it consume you.”
And I do.
I let myself feel every surge, every pull, every hunger. My wolf screams with delight and need. My body aches to be closer, to be claimed, to be bonded.
Kael leans closer again, possessive and intoxicating. “Mine, Elara,” he murmurs. “All of it… all of you… belongs to me.”
I shiver, heat coiling, wolf pressing, heartbeat racing. My lips part, breath hitching. My body is his. My wolf agrees.
And for the first time, I don’t fight it.
