By the time the last bell rings, I feel like I’m carrying the weight of a hurricane.
The bond.
The marks.
Lyra’s threats.
My wolf, wild and impatient inside me.
Kael meets me at the edge of the school grounds again, eyes glowing silver-blue. No words—just that magnetic pull, that heat that makes my pulse spike.
“Ready?” he asks, voice low and dangerous.
I swallow hard, trying to steady my racing heart. “I think so.”
He leads me to the forest beyond the school—a secluded clearing where the air hums with quiet power.
“Your wolf,” he begins, eyes locking on mine, “responds to fear, excitement, hunger… and desire. You can’t fight it forever. You need control.”
I nod, trembling. “How?”
Kael steps closer, hand brushing mine in a controlled, deliberate way. “Focus. Feel it. Let it guide you—but never let it rule you. Your wolf is strong, but you’re stronger.”
My body hums at his touch, wolf pressing, reacting instinctively to him. My chest tightens, pulse racing, heat curling low and deep.
He steps even closer, lips dangerously near my ear. “And your wolf… it’s hungry for me. Just like you.”
I shiver violently. “Kael… I—”
“Shh,” he murmurs, pressing a finger to my lips. “Not yet. First control. Then… reward.”
The forest seems to fade around us. My body presses instinctively toward him. My wolf whines softly, desperate. I can feel the heat coiling in my chest, the bond reacting violently to his nearness.
He leans closer, hand sliding along my arm, brushing the sensitive skin of my neck. “Good,” he murmurs. “Now, your wolf listens. Feels… responds. But you’re in charge. Always you.”
I gasp as the pull between us grows, primal, urgent. My wolf presses harder, claws itching, muscles coiling. My body trembles, heat surging.
Kael groans low, fangs flashing, eyes blazing silver-blue. “You feel that? That pull? That need?”
“Yes…” I breathe, shivering. My chest rises, hips shifting slightly, wolf desperate, leaning into him.
He brushes his lips against my jaw, teasing, testing, not quite claiming. “Good. Now you know what it feels like… to want me, and control it. Never forget.”
I shiver violently, wolf whining, heat coiling, every nerve alive. The bond leaves new red streaks along my collarbone, warm, alive, marking me again.
Kael steps back slightly, eyes locking on mine, voice rough. “You’re mine, Elara. Never forget it.”
I tremble, body humming, wolf pressed fully to him, heartbeat racing. Desire, hunger, and need swirl inside me, barely restrained.
And I realize:
Even if Lyra tries…
Even if the world turns against us…
I will always belong to him.
And my wolf… agrees.
