To be honest, I wasn’t expecting the flower shop to be as beautiful as this. You know, when you enjoy doing something, even the hard part of it seems so easy to you.
I unlocked the doors and made sure I opened all the windows to let air in, the style here was on a whole new level that I even have a office to myself and a personal place to attend to customers.
My brother did something worth appraisal and I’ll do that when I get back home.
Just as I dropped my phone on the desk to set some ready made flowers into a bouquet, I just felt like it since I’ve had experience of what should be done first in the morning, the door bell rang that someone has walked in.
“Hello, how may I help you?” I asked, walking towards the lady.
“I’m from Ms. Parker” the young lady uttered, I was utterly confused.
I just don’t know how to reply her, I stood in the same spot for a while before my phone ringing tone interrupted .
“Please excuse me for a second” i said to her and went ahead to pick up my phone.
“Bro?, I was just planning to call you because someone is here and I don’t know who she is” I explained, taking short peeks at her just so she’d not think I’m telling on her.
“She’ll be your assistant, the shop is very popular around there and she gets clients coming always, that’s why she sent her to help you” I nodded my head, smiling all through because I just can’t help but get excited at this luxury offer I was given .
“I just want to thank her, I so much love my job already!” I giggled happily.
“Why won’t you like it?, having all perks that no one will get from anywhere, I’m having a busy day gotta go” he teased, I just let him have his way.
“Okay, bye” I ended the call before he could even do so.
“So…back to you Miss?” I smiled as I walked to meet her.
“Please don’t call me miss, I’m Sylvia” she replied, politely.
“If you say so then, I’m also new here like you so please let’s just work together so we wouldn’t get reprimanded by our boss” I laughed off the statement I made as that didn’t sound like me at all.
It was later that I found out she has worked with the owner for a while before traveling so she knows a lot about how this place works, making my job way easier than I thought.
“The delivery…” I paused, calling to her attention.
“Yes, I’ll get on it after packing this box” she replied, busy with the flower gift box.
“No, I’ll do it, I want to look around here so I should just do the delivery” I just got the ecstatic feeling.
“Alright then, I’ll watch the shop” she retorted with a smile.
I picked the flower bouquet wrapped beautifully as I picked my bag and left for the bus station since I already got the address on my map.
I was getting impatient and furious at the speed the car was going and I just couldn’t help but query the driver.
“What’s going on?” I asked, getting ignored would be the last thing someone will ever try with me.
“I asked you something twice and you acted deaf to it?, should I conclude that a robot is driving the car?” I half yelled, getting infuriated at his nonchalant reaction.
“You can choose to hop down if you’re not satisfied with my service” He replied curtly, my eyes blinked in disbelief.
I’ve never seen such an arrogant man In my whole life.
“Stop the car!” I yelled.
The car screeched to stop and I immediately hopped down, although I had it In mind that I wasn’t going to pay him but I despise cheating.
“Here” I dropped the cash in his front seat.
“This is not the expected amount” he raised his brows.
“Well, you didn’t give me the expected service either, we’re even!” I shrugged my shoulder and walked to the other side, I was waiting to hear him scream or rush down to argue but then he just drove away.
He acknowledged his mistakes too.
I held my waist angrily as I go through my google maps to be sure where I could pass through since the place was just few walks away.
“I thought passing here was a shortcut!” I half yelled at no one in particular as I leaned against the rock wall whilst breathing heavily.
I suddenly felt that instant regret, why did I even think passing here would help me?
A place I had little idea about?
My eyes darted to a black car parked on the other side, I was just about to walk past it when I heard a soft wince that sounds like the crying of a little girl.
You have something to do!’ I cautioned myself as i briskly walked past them.
My heart flashed out of my body as another black car drove like a drift car past me, i ran towards the corner the minute the men hopped down with pistols in their hands.
“Oh my!” I shrieked In disbelief, my left hand covering my mouth.
Before I knew it, I heard a gunshot, another one and it kept on going like that.
At first, i foolishly want to believe that this has to be some drama scene that I began to look around for cameras or the crew but it was real.
I was watching a live scene of people killing themselves.
My mind darted to the voice I heard earlier, a girl is inside that car.
My fear heightened at the thought of it.
“You bastard, come get me!” The only man who was left in the first car ran towards the opposite corner as he intentionally made him come after him.
I was scared, from the way my fingers trembled along with my body and my eyes wouldn’t stop blinking but if I was to this to save life, I will not stop.
I braced myself up as I jump over the dead bodies, I unlocked the door and looked around but couldn’t find anyone in the car.
“Did I hear wrong?” I asked myself and was about to turn to run when I heard the hollow voice.
“Papa?” My eyes bulged to see the girl lying on the car rug, she might have mistakenly fell out of fear.
I picked her up and dropped the flower bouquet as it wasn’t easy to carry both so I just ran and passed through the corner before they could come back if they would.
“Little girl, you’ll be fine, you’ll be fine” I kept muttering as I waved for a taxi after getting to the main road.
I was suddenly taken aback to look at her only to find out she has passed out.
“Oh my god!” I shrieked, hot swears gatthering across my forehead and at this point, I couldn’t hold myself together.
The fear that she might have actually passed away in my hands scared me more than death itself.
“I..”
“What…what do I do?” My voice breaks and my body wasn’t on the balance.
“I should call Kai, I should call my brother” I stutter with tears lingering in my eyes as I forced my phone out of my mini bag.
My finger was shaking terribly that it gave me a hard time clicking on my brothers number.
“Hey Hazel, I’m currently busy and…”
“I’m in trouble!” I let out, panting.
“You said what?, what happened?”
“I… a girl, I saved and she…I”
“C’mon!, what the hell is going on?, can’t you talk properly?, I can’t even hear you!” He yelled, setting me straight.
“There is this girl, I don’t know if she’s dead or alive, I’m carrying her in my arms and…”
“What?”
“Get a taxi, Artemis General Hospital, Dr. Swan” he explained, I just nodded my head as if he was with me.
Without hesitation, I moved closer and began to wave my hands down for a taxi and it didn’t take too long.
“Oh my, is your daughter okay?” The driver asked, urging me to hop in without asking for my direction.
“Artemis General hospital, please!” I begged, my heart bearing so fast as if my house was on fire.

As soon as the car parked in front of the hospital and while I was busy trying to bring my card for payment, he drove off whilst waving his hand.
I dashed inside the hospital as I got heavy stares from people around but our problem was different and so I had to mind mine.
“Excuse me?, excuse me??” I called the nurse who walked past me but she didn’t stop.
“Heyyy, I am talking to you!” I yelled angrily, calling to the attention of many other people around.
“And do I have to answer you?, I’m a nurse and I have other patients to attend to!”
How could she say something like that?
“I don’t even need you to….” I was in the middle of saying something when my brother popped out from nowhere.
“People like you are the problems we have in this hospital, report to my office when you are less busy!” He reprimanded the nurse who wouldn’t stop bowing until she walked away.
“Hazel, come with me!” He took the girl from me and I ran after him.
15 minutes later
I jerked up from where I sat with my hands placed under my chin when my brother walked out of the ward where they took the girl in.
“Kai, how is she?” I rasped impatiently.
“Calm down, I’ll need an explanation from you hut before that, you should drink something to refresh yourself” he said, about to call his assistant to get me a drink.
“Can you just answer me first?, I’ll not calm down until I hear from you!”
“She is okay, she must have passed out from shock”
“What happened?”
