Episode Five

Belly went straight to the hotel to meet her sneaky link. After they peeled off their clothes like potatoes, Belly’s partner picked up the phone to order food from the kitchen. The food arrived shortly after their shower. They sat at the small table in the corner of the hotel room, eating and talking. “Nothing beats spicy chicken after a good workout. This looks delicious,” Belly said. “Here,” her partner said, pointing a finger at her face to help wipe the oil off her lips. “I’m good, stick to yours,” she said, picking up a napkin to clean herself. “Are you going to leave right away? Or do you want to stay the night?” he asked, continuing to eat. “Stay the night… to make up for the room fee?” she replied, smirking. “Jeez, don’t you want to be with me?” he asked. “Why ask the obvious? I can only sleep in my bed,” she said. He dropped his spoon and leaned closer. “How about we go steady?” She laughed, spilling some food. “You and I? You must be dreaming.” “Don’t you want to?” he pressed. “No, I don’t want to,” she said firmly. “Why not?” “Because that’s been our deal all along,” she replied. “I’ll date someone else, then,” he said. “Then this is our last time,” she said. “Dating someone else doesn’t stop us from having fun,” he countered. She dropped her spoon and faced him. “What are you playing at?” “It’s not like you care,” he said. “Wanting to have s*x without dating doesn’t make me a morally corrupt tramp. What you just said proves you’re no good to me anymore.” She stood up, changed her clothes, grabbed her bag, and said, “We are done,” before opening the door and leaving. He was left speechless. At a small lounge in Jessica’s area, she went in to have some vodka and clear her head. “Can I get six shots of vodka? No, make it ten,” she told the waiter. “Here you go. Been a while since I last saw you here. How are you doing? How’s your lousy friend?” the waiter asked. Jessica didn’t respond. He looked at her and suggested, “How about whiskey instead of vodka? It’s on the house today. You don’t look too good.” She shook her head. “I’d rather stick to what I always have.” “Okay, here’s your vodka,” he said. “Thank you,” she replied. She took her first two shots and paused. “Wait,” she said, setting down the glasses. “Can I have five minutes with you?” “Hmmm, yeah, I can spare that much,” he replied. “What’s your take on a four-year relationship?” she asked. “A four-year committed relationship? You’re practically family. You know you can be close to your family and also feel detached from them,” he said. She continued taking her shots. “Being emotionally close is a different concept. You might not be curious about one another, but once anyone notices that emotional gap… the relationship is over.” Her eyes widened as she dropped her shot glass. “Are we perhaps talking about…” he asked. “Your five minutes are up. Thank you,” she interrupted. “Should I get you more shots?” he smiled and walked away. At Belly’s apartment, she pulled out all her toys and turned on the TV to watch some hot movies for… inspiration. She picked up one of her toys and muttered, “Mr. Huge, are you ready for this tonight?” Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. “Who’s that mood killer at this hour?” she shouted. She stood up to open it and found Jessica standing there. “What took you so long to open?” Jessica asked, looking sad. “Why are you here this late?” Belly asked, surprised. “You have some vodka?” Jessica asked. “You came all the way here for vodka?” Belly said. Jessica rushed past her to the fridge. “Why don’t you have vodka here?” she asked, grabbing two bottles of beer instead. She sat on the floor and downed them quickly. Belly watched helplessly. “What’s this about? Just lay it all out—don’t leave anything out, fool. I’m all ears.” Jessica sighed. “It’s in your best interest not to waste my time,” Belly said, frowning. “You kind of ruined my happy moments. Now, if you don’t know…” “Kelvin and I have been in a relationship for four years,” Jessica began. “But do you think what we had all this time… was true love?” “Did you guys argue?” Belly asked. “Yes,” Jessica nodded. “What’s it about this time?” Belly pressed. Jessica’s mind flashed back to her earlier conversation with Kelvin at her place, after he asked why she needed that toy—and she had stayed silent. He picked up his jacket, ready to go home. “We’re not done talking!” Belly shouted. “You just told me I was bad in bed without actually saying it. What more can I say to that?” Kelvin replied. “When did I ever say that?” Jessica asked. “That’s exactly what you were implying,” Kelvin said. “All I wanted was to climax” Jessie began, her eyes filling with tears. Kelvin sighed heavily. “I really don’t want to say this, but the girls I’ve been with liked it just fine and always wanted more.” “Think about it. We’ve been together for four years, and not being able to c*m the whole time—that’s on you,” Kelvin added. “This isn’t about pointing fingers. This is about us as a couple,” Jessie said. “No, there’s no issue with me. You brought it up, so the problem is with you,” Kelvin snapped. “All you ever cared about was whether you were satisfied or not,” she said angrily. “What? What did you just say?” Kelvin demanded. “You once said you couldn’t get enough of me.” With that, he stormed out. “Then what happened next?” Belly asked. “When you’re in bed, do you make sounds and expressions? Does it come naturally—because you feel pure ecstasy?” Jessica asked. “Stop beating around the bush and get to the point,” Belly said. “What is it? Just tell me,” she continued. “All this time…” she paused. “I’ve been faking it… damn it……ive never had an orgasm! I’ve never had one,” Jessica said pitifully. “What the—?” Belly switched off the TV to focus. “Say that again,” she said, turning fully toward Jessica. “I’ve never had an orgasm!” Jessie repeated. “Not even once?! Oh my God, how is that even possible?” Belly exclaimed. “It’s understandable when you were younger, but you’ve been with him for a good four years. You should’ve had hundreds by now. How does this even make sense?” Belly said. “He believed I always enjoyed it,” Jessie said, breaking down in tears. Belly stood up and went to the fridge for more drinks. They drank until they were nearly stuporous. “Why didn’t you confide in me?” Belly asked. “I never meant to fake it at first. I didn’t even know there was a problem. Later on, I got the gist of how I was supposed to feel. I was always on the edge of getting there, but then…” She sighed. “I’m sorry,” Jessica said drunkenly. “It’s not something you should apologize for… Wait…you’ve been faking it for four years? How could he not have caught on?” Belly asked. “Part of it is on me, I guess, since I pretended to enjoy it,” Jessie said. “Why are you still taking his side? If it was bothering you this much, you should’ve come to me or talked to him about it. Instead, you kept it to yourself. Unbelievable. I thought you were smarter than this but turns out you’re a fool ,” Belly said angrily. “I’m tired of faking it. I’m not doing it anymore. Gosh, this is so unfair. I want to have them too,” Jessica said. “Come on, you’re only twenty-nine. You can start having them. What’s wrong with that?” Belly said. “Look, an orgasmic experience? they’re no big deal. It’s like riding a bike or swimming, once you learn, your body remembers what to do.” “Will I be able to have them?” Jessie asked softly. “Come on, don’t you have faith in me? And my experience?” Belly said with a grin. “I’ll have you seeing stars billions of miles away. Don’t worry just trust me.” She walked over to her wine rack and grabbed a bottle of champagne. “In hopes of you having orgasm in the future, I’m popping this champagne. And just so you know, this is really pricey,” Belly said. “Why bring champagne when I just want to learn how to?” Jessie asked. “How is this not a blessing?” Belly laughed. “All that’s left is orgasm after orgasm” This calls for celebration. Let’s celebrate Jessica’s future!” They started shouting and cheering.
