Aiden Before I knew it, the sky was darkening outside and the night was near. Madeleine seemed content enough with me roaming around in her apartment. I double-checked the doors and windows, making sure everything was properly locked before we went to sleep. Madeleine had spent the entire evening on the couch, totally engrossed in the book about my kind. "Everything is locked up, it's safe for you to go to sleep." I told her with a smile, as I sat back down on the chair. She gave me a bright smile in return and closed the book with a thud and placed it on the coffee table. A yawn left her mouth. "I'm actually super tired, thank you for checking everything... And thank you for staying." She said the last part in a whisper. "I'll keep you safe, I promised you that." I answered her honestly.
