Chapter Thirteen

Luca POV Falling asleep with my mate in my arms had me and my wolf happier than we had ever been before. If I were to die today, I would die a happy man. The morning light was shining through a small gap in the curtains and I woke blinking my eyes rapidly as the light blinded me. I shifted my head to the side and found my head buried in Amelia’s blonde hair. A deep breath allowed her sweet scent to fill my head, making me growl in happiness. I lay on my back, with Amelia laying by my side, her leg thrown over mine and her arm thrown over my stomach. Her breath tickles my neck as she snuggles into me deeper with a soft sigh. A quick glance at the alarm clock on the bedside table says we have three hours until the meeting time at an open field where the plane would be picking us up, and an hour and a half before we had to leave to get there. Perfect amount of time for a bit of cuddling. I kiss the top of Amelia’s head and smile when she snuggles into me again. “Five more minutes.” She grumbles into my neck, causing my body to shiver as her breath brushes against my exposed skin. With a soft growl, I roll her over onto her back and place myself between her thighs, while kissing down her soft neck to between her deliciously perky breasts, and across her stomach. Her soft breathy moans as I kiss my way down make my heart sing. Her hands pull at my shoulders, pulling me back up her, and I take my time by kissing my way back up until our lips meet. “Mmmm, good morning.” She sighed into my mouth, making me smile wider than I ever have before in my life. “Good morning.” I returned, giving her another steamy kiss. Her hands slid up and down my arms as she smiled up at me, her eyes still holding a bit of sleepiness. “What time is it?” she asked with a yawn as she stretched beneath me, raising her arms above her head. My eyes raked over her delectable body, lust rushing through my body. My mouth lowered to the n*****s that were standing to attention with the cool air and took one in my mouth, nibbling softy before kissing my way to the other. “Time for me to appreciate my wonderfully sexy mate.” I growled into her skin, eliciting a soft gasp from her as my fingers slid into her already eager and waiting p***y. My lips kissed and nipped their way between her breast, up her neck and to her mouth where I hovered, revelling in her soft gasps of pleasure. My eyes held onto her as my fingers slid in and out of her, pushing her towards the edge of pleasure. I increased the pace of my fingers, adding my thumb to her little bud, causing her to throw her head back with a moan, allowing my mouth to attack the soft skin of her neck. My lips slide with hot, open mouth kisses downwards until they reach her mark that I had given her just last night. I could feel her body beginning to tense as her orgasm began to build. A few more strokes of my fingers and my teeth gently sank into the mark on her collarbone causing her to cry out with her orgasm. I growled in pleasure as she rode out her orgasm, and when she was spent, I retracted my teeth and fingers and licked the wound to seal it. Her eyes gazed down at me with a lust filled look, making me smile at the effect I had on her. Her hands grasped at my hair and pulled my lips to hers for a long, passionate kiss before she rolled us over, her atop me. Her lips found mine in a hot kiss before the next half hour was spent endlessly pleasuring each other. *** The wind was chilly against our skin as we stood in the clearing, awaiting the arrival of the plane that would take us to Greece. Amelia is tucked into my arms, her head resting on my chest as we see the plane arrive. A small passenger plane lands near us and a tall blonde man with bright blue eyes steps from the plane and shakes my hand, with a wide smile. “Luca?” he asked brightly, his British accent adding to its brightness. I nod. “You must be Joseph? Thank you so much for doing this for us.” Joseph gave a nod to my question and led us over to the plane, opening the door for us. “No problem. Charlie’s paying me double for this, so I’m not complaining.” He said with a quick chuckle. I smiled back in response and sat in the chairs provided. “Hold on tight guys, we should be there within three hours.” With a thanks from us, he walked past us to the cockpit, closing the door behind him and then we were off. We sat in comfortable silence as we held hands, Amelia’s head resting against my shoulder. A look out of the window showed miles and miles of ocean, and in the distance, I could see land. We’d been in the air for almost exactly three hours now and I was hoping we’d be getting close soon, I was getting antsy. There was some feedback over the speakers before we heard Joseph start talking. “Not long till landing now, we’re approaching the mainland in about ten minutes, and then I’ll be coming round for the landing.” More feedback and then silence. Sitting back in my seat I pull Amelia’s hand to my lips and kiss it gently. “Thank god, I was starting to get cabin fever.” I whispered jokingly, making her giggle and kiss her softly on the lips. Feedback screeched over the speakers again, pulling our attention to the assaulting sound. It sounded off from last time, and then a voice spoke through it that made my heart stop. “Attention, lovelies.” Said the high-pitched voice through the speaker. “Please fasten your seatbelts, we’re about to experience a little bit of turbulence.” Her sentence was finished with a bone chilling cackle and the seat belts around our waists tightened painfully, making us gasp in discomfort. My blood froze in my veins as alarming beeps and squeals sounded from the cockpit. And then anger ripped through me. My claws extended and I easily sliced through the belt, doing the same for Amelia, before jumping up and ripping the cockpit door from its hinges. The sight that welcomed me was not a comforting one. The nose of the plane was pointed harshly downwards, the ocean filling my view out of the window. Joseph was sitting stiffly in the pilot chair, his knuckles white as his hands clutched at the wheel, his eyes pure white and staring out the window. My claws tried to rip through his seat belt but had no luck. I would have to leave him, and it did not sit right with me whatsoever. I ran out of the cockpit and grabbed Amelia’s hand, dragging her straight for the door. Much like the cockpit I ripped the door off and threw it behind us. Amelia’s wide eyes stared down at the ocean below. We were plummeting at an extremely fast rate, but we were still really high up and it was an exceptionally long drop. Her wide eyes turned to me and I pulled her in for a quick kiss and then, grasping tightly to her waist, and checking I still had my satchel across my chest, I jumped. Amelia’s scream was swallowed by the wind as we dropped down. After what felt like an eternity of falling, we were landing in the ocean below. The icy cold water was a shock to the system as I burst to the surface, gasping for breath. Amelia was still pressed tightly against me as we watched the planes descent, and my heart clenched in guilt as the plane crashed into the water, taking Joseph with it. My eyes searched the horizon around us until it finally fell on land. So we swam, diving under when a boat approached the wreckage of the ship. The swim was extremely exhausting and by the time we pulled ourselves onto land, all we could do is collapse. After a few minutes of allowing ourselves to catch our breath, we rose from the ground and tried to get our bearings. In the distance there appeared to be buildings and a harbour. I pulled my phone from my pocket and was not surprised to see it was dead. With a big sigh, we trudge our way to civilisation in search of a new phone, a boat for the river we would be traveling on, and transport for us and said boat. I thanked the Goddess that Seth had given us the pack card. An hour later, we had dry clothes, a new phone, a boat and were awaiting the transport that would take us where we need to go. While we waited, I placed the sim from my damaged phone to the new one and when it blinked to life, I rang Mia. When she answered it was hard to hear her, wind screaming around her. “Luca?!” she shouted through the phone, almost splitting my eardrums. “What’s wrong?!” “We’ve hit a bit of a snag.” I said loudly back, so she could hear me over the wind. “Hang on! Viktor, I’ll be back in a sec.” The wind silenced after a minute and I sighed in relief. “What’s wrong?” she asked, concern sounding in her tone. “Now, don’t panic. We’re ok. But the plane we were on kind of… crashed.” I cringed in preparation for the high-pitched squeal I knew was coming, and I was right. “What?!” I held the phone away from my ear at the screech, before returning it to continue my explanation. “It’s ok. We got out in time. But Adrienne high-jacked our pilot and made him crash the plane into the ocean. We’re still on our way to get the next ingredient.” “I’m coming to get you.” Mia demanded, her voice full of worry. “No, Mia. You have to stay there. By the sound of things, the hurricane is fast approaching. We don’t know when there will be a next one. You have to stay there and completed the mission. We’re fine.” Mia sighed in defeat. “You’re right. Just… be careful, please.” I reassured her we would do our best and with a few more times of convincing her we were fine, we hung up. As I hung up the phone the taxi pulled up to us, the driver staring quizzically at the small boat beside us, but just shrugged and began strapping it to the roof of his small car. It was almost comical, and then we were on our way and I let out a sigh of relief. I was very eager to get this whole adventure over with. Defeating Adrienne would finally mean peace for us all, and I could finally begin my life with my mate. I grabbed her hand in mine as we drove and zoned out. My thoughts ran to my twin. Even though she was a very capable witch, I hoped that she was using all caution collecting her last ingredient. The eye of a hurricane is nothing to bat an eye at, but I knew she would be alright. Nearly forty minutes later we came to the river. The man pulled to the side of the road when I asked and helped me dismount the boat with a quizzical look, but when I paid him triple the fair, he didn’t give a damn at the weird stopping area. With a bright smile he bid us goodbye and drove off. Amelia looked at me questioningly as I grabbed the boat with one hand and my phone in the other but followed me none the less. My phone GPS led us to the edge of the Acheron river, and I placed the boat into the water, the cover of darkness shrouding us from any curious eyes if there should be any. “How are we going to do this?” Amelia asked as she hopped into the boat and I pushed it off the edge of the bank. As I sat in the boat I reached into the satchel at my waist and grabbed the Obolus, handing it to her. “I’ll steer. You hold the coin and keep your eyes open for a cave.” Her brows furrowed. “believe me, you’ll know it when you see it.” I said, answering her question before she had a chance to utter it. With a shrug of her shoulders she faced the front of the boat, her vampire vision able to see into all the dark crevices.
