Chapter 2

611 Words
I woke up on a Monday morning feeling excited and light hearted. I was finally going back to school after a week of bed rest (doctor's orders). i walked into the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror and smiled. 'It's good to be alive again" I thought to myself. I turned on the shower and stepped in. And then I got out, wrapped a towel and dried my brown hair with another towel. I walked into my closet and chose a floral dress that was a knee length and some sandals, tied my hair in a messy bun and put on some make up. I checked myself out one more time and grabbed my bag and headed downstairs. As i was walking down the stairs, I overhead Ryan telling Maria that Kaden, my brother, would be coming to visit over the summer holidays. I was so excited cause I hadn't seen him in 5 years. After my mother's death, my father decided that It was best to send him to a boarding school. This would be his first time coming to visit. i couldn't contain my excitement as a result i made a squeaky sound and I accidentally let my parents know that i was eavesdropping. I decided to reveal myself from where i was hiding and pretended that i did not hear a thing. "Morning, Ria " I said with a smile as I walked into the kitchen where my step mother was making pan cakes. "Someone is in a good mood" said Maria as she was the grin on my face. I blushed and rushed out of the door. I had a feeling this would be a great day. I met up with Abby and Isa on my way and we talked and giggled till we got to school. We did our usual routine of putting out books in our lockers and headed to our different classes. My first class was English and I didn't like the teacher very much. He was tall, muscular, with deep green eyes and a tight jaw and was every girl's dream in our school, except me. Classes went pretty well and it was already lunch time. I met up with Abby and Isa at the cafeteria, grabbed or trays of food and went to sit in our favorite bench outside under the tree. We had lunch quietly and peacefully and then once we were done we parted ways. the rest of the day went by pretty fast.  i decided to shift and go for a run and release all the emotions i was feeling. i went near the woods and i immediately shifted to my whitish-grey wolf, Daisy. Daisy was like my peace, my hope, she was a part of me and always restored my hope that one day we will find a mate that would  love us for who we are and protect us against any harm. this tiny bit of hope was what kept me alive for the past 5 years. i couldn't die, i had a mysterious mate to live for, to love and hold.  These thoughts were running through my mind as i was running in the woods, my paws hitting the dried leaves and the mud in a thrilling way. i ran , my adrenaline pushing me to run even faster till i reached a river bank. I stopped for a drink and then, decided to head home before Mr r****t would punish me severely for arriving late from school. i honestly didn't mind taking a couple of more beatings from him cause i know they were going t stop very soon. Kaden would protect me.
