CHAPTER 4

LILLIAN POV I woke up very early the next day, anxious of what it may bring for it will be my first day at majestic high and for the first time, I was being honest with myself, I was scared….scared of moving around with my Mum’s bosses kids…scared of being scrutinized and been laughed at. But then I thought about Drake and immediately every trickle of fear in my heart was been replaced by excitement and suddenly, I couldn’t wait to be on the school grounds. Hours later, I found my self walking down the majestic corridor with white oak doors that indicated lecturing halls and gleaming walls that shone brightly under the chandelier lights as I moved from the principal office to my locker room to change into the school uniform that had already been covered by my scholarship. “Here is the locker room” Mrs Willis said and pointed at the changing rooms, “Go in and change your outfit and make it snappy for I will be out waiting to escort you to your classroom.” “Yes ma’am” I murmured as I hurriedly entered the changing room to change. Everything here is so different from where I am coming from and I marveled at the opulence of the building, from the art works, to the school grounds. “Here is your classroom” she said as we entered a huge lecture hall with gleaming walls and saw some students laughing and patrolling noisily around the hall “Every body sit down!” She yelled angrily and immediately, every one scrambled to the desk and chairs appointed to them. “Everyone, as you can see here, we have a new comer today…so let’s be nice” she paused and looked at me momentarily, then she cleared her throat and continued; “Her name is Lillian…Lillian, go and take your seat.” I nodded, but before I could move, a spiky haired kid, seated at the far end corner of the class room suddenly asked sarcastically, with his voice dripping with venom; “Which family are you from?” “Yeah…” a blonde interjected, “I have never seen her around society.” “Maybe she is not from around here” a long curly haired brunette, seated at same row with blonde hissed with a look of disgust on her face. “Is it my imagination or did the atmosphere of this class change?” The blonde asked shrilly, “the air is smelling damp.” “Enough!” Mrs Willis bellowed, her voice vibrating off the walls and everyone stayed still, like they weren’t the ones making jest of me, minutes ago. “I don’t want to hear any degrading comment from anyone concerning miss Lillian” she cautioned angrily and pointed at me, “miss Stewart here is under the immunity of the Luna and therefore has as much right as you all, understood?” “Yes Mrs Willis” they replied in unison as the stared mockingly at me, promising me of more to come. “Now Miss Stewart…go and take your seat beside that young man” she said and pointed to an empty seat behind a chubby brown haired kid, who flashed a wide smile at me with his arm outstretched for an handshake and said; “Hello…welcome to Majestic high…My name is Joshua, but you can call me Josh.” ***************************** “For real, which family are you from?” Josh asked inaudibly as we moved to the dining hall to fetch our lunch. “I—I am from the palace” I stammered nervously as looked away in order to avoid his eyes. To be honest, Josh might look like a nice kid, but I wasn’t sure I could trust him yet…but as soon as he saw me looking away, he snickered. “Cmon Lily…you can trust me and I know you are not from the palace, the only ones from the palace are Drake and Andre.” “I don’t know Josh” I replied fearfully, “I don’t want any trouble.” “Ok ok..I won’t pry into your personal buisness any longer” he shrugged and pointed at a table at the far end of the hall, “let’s go over there, that place looks secluded.” I felt bad for turning Josh down for I know he meant well, but I shrugged it off with the thought of it being for the best and smiled at him yapping excitedly with his friend, Lucy, who had joined us at the dining hall. “Didn’t I tell you?…I told you my dad was going to get it for me…he promised…” “Ouuuu lucky you” she muttered happily as she admired Josh’s neck lace, “it’s so gorgeous..” “Yes it is” he said as his chest swell up in pride, “….and guess what?” “What?” Lucy asked eagerly. “I plan to present it as a gift to my future mate” he said breathlessly as his eyes shone with excitement. We stared at him momentarily in shock and then as if a switch was being pulled, we burst laughing…Josh included and I discovered there and then, that I liked this one. “Future mate?” Lucy snickered, with her hands over her belle as if to contain her laughter, “we haven’t gotten our wolf yet, dummy.” “I know…” Josh retorted, “ can’t a man dream?” “Yeah you can dream all right” Lucy jeered, “but first of all imagine how your wolf will look like.” “I don’t need to imagine” he replied with his eyes closed and a smile playing on his lips, “papa always said my wolf will be strong like mudan.” “And chubby if you ask me” she grinned and asked, “who is mudan?” “You can laugh at my size…but know I will grow up to be a very good looking strong wolf and for your information, mudan is my papa’s wolf” he snapped, snatching his bag from her clutches. “Wow wow angry head…don’t take things personally, you know I will always love you no matter what” she coaxed him and went over to give him a playful hug and after many grumbling from him, he reluctantly hugged her back. I watched with amusement at their display and wondered how good it will be to truly have a friend… Maybe I can trust Josh…the thought flashed in my mind yet again, but as I was about to finally tell him who I am, Lucy suddenly shrieked with excitement, her eyes fixated at the entrance door and I turned back immediately to see— he who makes my heart beat…the reason I’m in this hell of a school…my forever crush and first love…. Drake.
