Amelia I locked the door back with a quiet click and turned around. Adrian stood there in the middle of my living room with his hands loose at his sides, just watching me. He didn’t say anything. He just stared, like he was trying to decide whether coming here had been a mistake or the only thing that made sense tonight. Then he moved. He crossed the small space between us in two slow steps, lifted his hands and cupped my cheek. His palms were warm, as his thumbs lightly brushed my skin. I softly grabbed the front of his shirt and tugged him closer to me until our bodies pressed together. Our lips met halfway, hungry and a little desperate.
