“You don’t understand,” Killan rasps, his voice thick with restraint. The tips of his canines peek out longer than usual, and strands of his dark hair cling to his damp temples, framing those wild, stormy eyes. “I want to give you more. But this… this has to be perfect.”
My heart clenches, breaking in a way I hadn’t expected.
Why hadn’t I seen it sooner—how deeply I’d hurt him, how often I’ve pushed him away, how many times I made him question whether I truly wanted him?
