And, my female would kill me if I allowed a werewolf male to stake a claim and transform her friend, especially if Tess isn't given a choice. It’s not unheard of for a male to bite a woman when she denies a mating bond. Once his saliva enters her bloodstream, the transition starts. The connection humans make with their wolven half is absolute.
And even if Tess ends up hating Killan, the wolf inside her would never turn him away.
"Are you sure that's what you want to do?" I ask. It's not the best way to establish a mating bond. If Killan isn’t careful, he could end up with a mate who hates him. "Have you considered doing this the human way?"
