“Why are you here again?” I smiled when I heard him
“I need to ask you something” I said
“Sit down’ he offered, yes we are at a river and the only thing you can sit on is on a rock
“What is it?’ He asked
“How come Lucas, knows witches and vampires?” I asked because he never mentioned anything to me, even when we go out on dates.
“Baby, it’s not only witches and vampires, other beings too. He knows at least one or two” He answered
“Why? what’s the deal?” I’m curious
“What he explained to me is that when he found out you were mates, he decided to do a background check but not because he was unsure of you but because he couldn’t believe that his mate would be a daughter of an Alpha. So when he did, he found out you were special. That’s when he decided to talk to different beings to protect you” he explained
“So he just asked you and you said yes?” I asked not believing him
“Yes” He assured me
“Impossible, he must’ve offered something to you to get you all on his side” I said
“It wasn’t hard to convince witches because your mom was one. As for Vampires, we hated you wolves but my father was a friend of your father. For the other beings, I don’t know. But All I know is they are secretly protecting you”
I sighed
“You are one lucky wolf. You know that?” He said smiling
“I don’t know about that. My Ma----the Alpha doesn’t trust you” I said sadly
“I don’t need his trust. I just need you to trust me” he answered and smiled
“Thank you Damien. They wanted to talk to you but I know you don’t want to” I said
“Probably not the best Idea.” He chuckled
“You need to go back now, it’s not safe here. What if I was not here? You could’ve been hurt. Lucas would probably mad at me” He said
I laughed at his comment “Okay. We wouldn’t want Lucas go all crazy huh?” I said
He nodded “Yup”
I was about to go back but I thought of something “Hey, I want to meet your father sometime”
“Another time hun. I will tell him you said hi” he said and waved at me good bye
I forgot to take off my clothes and I shifted. I curse internally. Well it’s done. I ran back to the pack house. Mind linked my Dad to bring me something to cover up and he did.
I shifted back to human form.
“Crystal is beautiful” Dad said and I looked at him confused because he already saw my wolf then.
“She changed color, she was white now she’s blue. You didn’t know?” he asked
“Nope. I guess changing will be often from now on” I said smiling at him
“Let’s go inside” he said
I sat down when we got in. I was only wrapped in a towel and my mom handed me hot chocolate
“Thanks mom” I said
“Where’s mate?”
“I don’t know tala”
“You don’t care? you sound like you don’t”
“I do but it’s just I don’t know. He doesn’t trust me, why would I trust him then?”
“I talked to his wolf”
“How? Without me knowing? Really now?”
“Yes, I guess I have powers too” she giggled
“Oh so you want him. I sense it” I said
“Oh come on. He is fine. I just hate his human a little”
“That’s good to hear. You can talk to him anytime if you want, me knowing or not. I don’t mind”
“Okay”
“Done talking to Crystal?” Alex asked
“Yes. Tala has been really weird lately but yeah she’s all good now” I answered
“Why do you call her Tala?” Bryan asked
“Ask Lucas” I seriously said and pretending to point at someone
They all went silent. I laughed
“Kidding! Well the reason I call her Tala because of Lucas. He said that his grandmother was a Filipino and Tala means star” I explained
My dad sighed “You should avoid mentioning Lucas now honey, because you have a mate, a second chance mate. Just a respect for him. Okay?”
“okay daddy!” I said cheerfully
“That was fast. You usually throw tantrums first and still don’t agree” Bryan jokingly said
“Hey! I am trying to change here” I answered
“Who’s watching my pregnant friend?” I asked
“Lucy and the ladies” Alex said
I just nodded. And Thought about what they said, the coronation. Two days. I have no choice, we have to mark each other. My problem is that, when I get marked I get into what they call heat. And we have to complete the mating process then.
“Have you thought about the coronation?” Mom asked
“Yes mom, and I am scared” As I put down the cup on the table
“I was also scared then but look at me now. I was a Luna, I helped Alice to be one and I had three of you on the side.”
“You will help me too right?” I asked hoping
“Honey, you have your Mom Rose here now. She will help you. But I will still visit you so don’t worry about anything” she said and hugged me
“How about being marked? The heat? Mom you know I….I can’t----“
“Shhhh, it’s fine, just don’t be afraid and everything will fall into place”
I nodded.
“You need to change now.” Dad said
“Okay, I will be right back” I said
I went straight to my room, only to find my things are gone. I sighed. I went towards his room. I knocked.
“What is it?” James asked
“I just want to change, is it okay?” I asked
“You don’t need to ask, this is our room” he said
I opened the door and went to change. I took some clothes with me and to the bathroom.
I went out to find him, sitting on the bed. I decided to sit down beside him.
“I apologize for what I said earlier. I was just-----“
“No it’s fine. What you said was true and look you came back here without any injuries or bruises” he smiled faintly
“I need to think for a while. But don’t worry about the coronation, and the marking” I assured him
“Thank you” he just said and I stood up and walked towards the door
I closed the door and sighed. I started going down where my family are. And His parents are also there.
“Do I need to know anything before the coronation?” I asked them
“It’s better if you ask our son about---“ “Dad, I know he has been with MANY DIFFERENT girls. I don’t think I’ll have any problems with them” I said because I read his mind, He was worried about that
“I forgot you read minds. If you have any problems soon, just ask us okay?” He said and I nodded
The day went on and it was time for my parents to go home. We said our goodbyes but I will see them during the coronation in just two days. I will become Luna. I wish I could handle this. I hope and pray nothing could go wrong.
“Do you want-----is it okay to stay here?” James asked
“Sure, whatever makes you feel at peace” I said
“I’ll sleep on the couch over here” he offered and I nodded.
It’s good that he gives me space. I know I hurt him with the words I said but I got mad. Heat of the moment.
The moment we lay down. He caught his sleep. I sit up and look over he was sound asleep. While I couldn’t, I got up and go down the stairs, I open the fridge and drink some milk.
When I was done, I went back to our room and as I got near our room, I heard noises. I opened the door and saw him drenched in sweat, I guess he was having a nightmare.
I go near him and touch his arms.
“James” I whisper shout and repeated it three times until he open his eyes
He sits up and looks at me intently then hugged me.
I felt his fear and look at him “Do you want to stay in bed with me?”
“No, it’s fine” he said as he lets me go
“Come on, let’s sleep” I offered again
“Cas, it’s----“ “I don’t want no for an answer” I cut him off and pull him up and we walk straight to the bed.
When he laid down, I did too and scooted over to him. He immediately wrapped his arms around my waist and I did the same.
“Sleep. You need it for tomorrow” I tell him and he nodded, not long after he was already asleep without nightmares.
I sighed and did the same. I closed my eyes and soon after, I drifted off to sleep.
