Chapter 3

708 Words
It wasn't that I had never brought up resigning before. Six months ago, I had placed my resignation letter on Adrian's desk. That night, he had dragged me straight into the private lounge in his office. He had torn my clothes apart, and faint black snake scales had even begun to emerge on his lower body. He had twisted my body into a position I could never have imagined, and without any hesitation, he had forced himself on me with a terrifying, brutal force. The pain had been so intense that I had screamed out instantly, my vision blurred by tears. He had gripped my throat and whispered viciously in my ear as he lost control, his monstrous strength leaving me completely powerless. "Vivian, you want to leave? Where do you think you're going? With this body that I've already claimed, do you really think you can go serve those ordinary human men?" "Do you really think anyone besides me could satisfy you? After me, you'll never be interested in any other man again." That night, I had lost consciousness several times from what he had done. When I had finally woken up, the sheets had been stained with a shocking red. After that, I had never dared mention leaving again. But now, someone reckless enough to replace me had finally appeared. Eleanor had agreed to this personnel change as well. She didn't want her son to cause a scandal because of his excessive desire or uncontrollable brutality, so she had secretly approved the transfer and signed off on it. When I returned to Adrian's private villa, the sky had already grown dark. Adrian was sitting on the leather sofa, his entire figure hidden in the shadows. Hearing the door open, he slowly raised his eyes. His dark gaze was so cold that it sent chills through my bones. "Where were you? It's so late." I instinctively tensed up and lowered my head. "I went to the finance department to settle this month's expenses." The living room fell into a deathly silence. After a long while, he suddenly let out a low laugh. "Come here." I slowly walked over. He reached out and yanked me into his arms. His body temperature was as cold as a corpse, yet his breath was burning hot. His icy lips pressed against the side of my neck. His crimson tongue moved like a snake's as it traced along my collarbone, leaving behind a damp, heated mark. His movements carried a terrifying sense of possession. His slender fingers, roughened by thin calluses, slipped beneath the hem of my clothes and gently kneaded my aching waist. His strong thigh pressed between my legs, leaving me unable to move away. "Did anyone come looking for you today?" His fingertip slid downward, pressing roughly against my private area through the thin fabric, forcing me to feel the outline of his already reawakening, burning heat. "I heard from my mother that you agreed to this rotation?" "Vivian, do you really think that by bringing in someone else, you can get rid of me for good?" My throat tightened, and my body instinctively shuddered at his touch. I kept my head down, too afraid to make a sound. He gripped my chin, forcing me to meet his gaze. "Who gave you the nerve? Do you think that i***t can take your place? With that fragile body of hers, I could pierce right through her with just one finger." I kept my head down, afraid to look at him. He gave a cold laugh to himself, then let go of me and smoothed out his suit. "I'm going on a business trip to Bayport tomorrow. I'll be back in two days." I jerked my head up and looked at him. My heart skipped a beat! Two days would be enough. If that stupid woman Chloe really went to beg Eleanor, then maybe I really can leave. I didn't dare let the joy in my heart show, so I could only look at him obediently. "I'll wait for you to come back like a good girl." He leaned in close and planted a cold kiss on my forehead. "Be good. Don't get any funny ideas while I'm not watching you."
